Dayamn! Kiko is a MONSTER! Dystopia is the most impressive record technically from Megadeth since Rust in Peace. Marty Friedman's solos were always ridiculous and the band would go back that style occasionally on subsequent albums, but they never really went full speed ahead on an entire album. They flirted with it most probably on Endgame but Dystopia is easily Megadeth's most technical record from start to finish in 20 years! Get well soon Dave! Can't wait to hear the next one!

While I've always prefered Megadeth a LITTLE BIT (love both bands I'm not here to start anything), I think Hardwired is very good (better than the Black Album imo), and a little bit better than Dystopia.

Kiko's solos are awesome... but that little bass solo at the beginning of Fatal Illusion totally gave me the goosebumps! Dave's voice at 4:18 when he's presenting David Ellefson... blew my mind... it would be so cool if he'd sing/shout more in that tone of voice!! Next album maybe? :D

And Megadeth, well it was Hangar 18 back then (yeah it was a classic by the year 2000 already)... and now they're still doing that same amazing thing again, for the new generations, with this video. Kiko Loureiro, man, what a display (he first struck me by that same age with Carolina IV, from the album Holy Land, 1996). This shit is nucleeear man, Dave Mustaine thank you for SO SO much
You can clearly hear Phantom Lord melodic interlude in this. And yes, it's that way because Mustaine wrote and composed that song for KEA before being kicked out of Metallica

It was because Broderick things wanted to play Broderick robotic things and Megadeth is all but that, it is about Mustaine music. You have to be this good (Kiko/Marty) for expressing yourself
Exactly, and Kiko is the perfect replacement! He is absolutely a fantastic guitarist and the first I like from the Marty era. Chris is technically great, but just doesn't have the same emotion and feel as Marty and Kiko

The opening of Conquer or Die is one of my favorite classical pieces to play. Not only is it challenging, fun, its just beautiful.
This puts Kiko among the best guitarist in metal category.

Think Dave's rhythm playing was by far more technical on Endgame, Dystopia is really easy to play compared to the older stuff outside of the solos
