- Penn State Nittany Lion Football Highlights showcasing the best moments in Beaver Stadium from the 2000 season through the 2005 season.
2000
Penn State upsets Purdue 22-20; making the Penn State the only team Drew Brees never defeated during his 3 years as a starter with the Boilermakers
Penn State defeats Illinois for homecoming, in a game that showcased Rashard Casey's scrambling ability. (My first game ever at Beaver Stadium)
2001
Penn State opens the 2001 season VS the #2 ranked Hurricanes with Adam Taliaferro leading the Nittany Lions out of the tunnel in front of 109,313 in the newly expanded Beaver Stadium
Penn State defeats Ohio State to give Paterno the most wins in div. 1 college football
2002
Penn State upsets Nebraska in front of a record crowd of 110,753 (a record that stood for 14 seasons)
Penn State defeats Michigan State as Larry Johnson rushes for over 250 yards in the first half! Giving him 2000+ on the season in a game known as "2k for LJ"
2003
One of the worst seasons in Penn State football history was highlighted by great defensive play... The one play that stands out is the interception return VS Ohio State
2005
Penn State upsets #16 Minnesota setting up an epic showdown in Beaver Stadium the following weekend VS Ohio State
Penn State Upsets the #6 Buckeyes in front of a rain soaked electric Beaver Stadium
Penn State beats Wisconsin to sew up the Big Ten Championship finishing 10-1 one year removed from a dismal 3-9 season in 2004.
Great video. would have been great to add the 1/3/06 Orange Bowl.
Thanks for the comment! Glad you enjoyed it. I only included games at Beaver Stadium in the compilation... I thought about adding the Orange Bowl, but decided regardless of how exciting the win was...a win over a 5 loss Florida State team wasn't all that impressive.
Just finding this, ya know Michigan fans now still bring back the memories of getting ripped off, another legacy of joepa- replay review
2005 team will always be my favorite. That team holds a special place in my heart. Should of been 12-0
This is great , My first game 78-79 -------PSU 85
WOW that run by Rashad Casey at 4:49. Never saw that.
Thank you for putting this together 😊
No problem!
I was there at the 2001 Miami home opener. Got killed 33-7 I think but I had a great time - it was my sophomore year at penn state (but I'd leave at the end of that semester lol)
also the Canes won that year, right? They had Dorsey, Shockey, Andre Johnson, Portis... team was so stacked
