    great discussion of all of the pro and cons.
    I love this series concept and it's a void the hobby absolutely needs.

    I feed this too to my minnows, because I like them to eat from the bottom as well as the surface, and I also mix in some more spirulina powder to eke it out, and sometimes powdered fry food. My shrimps love it also and snails finish anything off. It's such a good product. River loaches do enjoy this, you are right on that.

      Thank you :) That's a shame, the event was so busy I understand why you couldn't make it. I usually store mine in the fridge too, mostly soilent green but occasionally bottom scratcher.

    Another one that would be interesting for you to take a look at would be Repashy Igapo Explorer

      @FreshwaterIchthyology  2 месяца назад

      I would like to, I can’t actually get any in the UK sadly as Repashy restricted their UK range. But I’ll see if I can find any left over stock before they stopped selling it here.

    I hadn't fed Repashy in a while
    Made some on Sunday though
    Heard you can feed in powdered for too
    Never tried it though

      Yes, you can feed it as a powder for fry but no idea if it sinks.

    I wonder if this would be a good food source to gut load live food, like white worms, micro worms. I wonder if it would be consumed better as is or mixed up. Have you tried using it for gut loading?

    • @FreshwaterIchthyology
      @FreshwaterIchthyology  2 месяца назад

      Potentially, I know Repashy does stock a load of diets for gut loading invertebrates. If you can change what you're feeding your livefoods you could change or improve their nutritional profile. I've never tried it as the only live food I currently culture is earthworms that I feed guinea pig poop as I think it's easier to feed them something already partially processed.

    Have you seen trigger specialty foods??
    They are UK based I believe- I've had it shipped to me in Thailand- alot of my plecos love it and it's cheaper
    I also mix it with my own extra chlorella, spirulina and add rapshy--- but I add some agar to help hold it together better when mixing alot of extra additions
    I'd like to hear your take on trigger foods
    I found them on Ebay by the way!!

    Have you tried to freeze repashy after its cold?

    • @FreshwaterIchthyology
      @FreshwaterIchthyology  2 месяца назад

      I have frozen it, the issue is it does float until defrosted so I tend not to do that often.

      @@FreshwaterIchthyology makes some sense, i freeze when i make bigger amount at the same time.

  • @AbsoluteShambles734
    @AbsoluteShambles734 11 дней назад

    Can i ask what you add to it?

    • @FreshwaterIchthyology
      @FreshwaterIchthyology  10 дней назад

      I add for mine as they are algivores, chlorella powder and spirulina to increase the volume of them. I keep meaning to blend down the mushrooms I have but I need a better blender as I find it overheats with dry things.
      There are other things, some use frozen food but I wouldn't leave it for more then around 48 hours even in the fridge. Herbs also work.
