Dear Rafa, another really emotional video, I can fully feel with you, as I am a Trail Runner as well. The moment when you fall and hurt yourself is probably the worst feeling, its like the world goes down. As I told you already, I fell at Ultraks Sky race in Zermatt, just before Riffelap, I was in 2'40 on top of Gornergrat, all good. Then I took too much risk on the downhill to gain time, I had a certain time in mind. My learning is the following: Pace is useless, just finishing must be the goal. No risk on downhills, it is not worth it! And last but not least, you can never start to slow! After 4 months of absence from running, I am now back since 2 months training with one goal in mind: Ultraks Sky Race Zermatt, I want to finish, no matter how hehe. I am sure my emotions will go crazy with me, and my family will come with me again, 2 kids 8 and 14, they suffer with me. All the best Rafa! TAke care
So glad to hear you are back in the game Miguel! Can’t agree more with the pacing and aiming to finish. I share that philosophy. I dont look for a time on the courses. I try and enjoy the incredible landscape as best possible as I push myself through the pain with the limited training I am able to put in. It’s great that your family will be there with you! Sharing those moments are key! Leading by example to show your children that through dedication, determination and discipline you can achieve anything! Keep in touch and let me k ow how it goes!

Muchusimas gracias por tu mensaje! Zermatt es un lungar lindisimo. Hay dos carreras: la del marathon en julio y el ultraks en Agosto (que hago en una semana). Las dos son muy muy lindas; tenes por eligir 😄 ojala podes hacer una de las dos (o las dos!) un dia! Saludos!
My friends and I completed it couples of weeks ago. The weather was beautiful this year. Though I was registered as Ultra but I completed only 42. Realy love your talking during the challenge

@@rafaelhidalgo I finish the 42 almost 7 hours which is longer than the cut off time about 5 minutes. Maybe I will try it again when I have enough training (and budget...haha)

@@rafaelhidalgo I never had the opportunity to run through the mountains so far. I'm from The Netherlands where all the miles are just as flat as a pancake! :) Running through the Alps is on my bucket list and hopefully I have the chance in 2022. Watching your movie inspires to pursue my dreams to run trough the mountains myself!

Another great video, amazing views, did you ever consider calf sleeves? plus you must have quite a medal and completion record, swisspeaks 100km must be at the top!
Thanks Dean! Indeed i used to run with calf sleeves but i never really felt the effect. But i might revert back to it in 2022. Thanks for the headsup. Funny you mention the medals i just put these up on the wall with a few pictures. Might feature them in a future film.

What sort of pace were you running during the first 5 minutes of the video before the climb started?
It was around 6:30min/km
Wich kind of app or watch face are you using on your watch?
In that race i was using the Fenix 6X Pro. Great watch. I’ve upgraded to the Garmin Enduro 2 since then.
