23 February 2024 I lost my uncle to throat cancer. Listening to this, recalls all the pain I saw him going through. Wherever he is, I hope he knows that "It’s Okay" he played his part in this life.

But, I believe that we gonna break through. We will overcome. She has gone already, we need to pray for her, my family and other innocent who are suffering from this decease. We will be there all of us! We don't know what's next. There are millions of children, people and whatever seeking for a daily bread or health care. Let's make this world as a beautiful place. 26 Jan 2024 I was diagnosed with Stage 3 Breast Cancer and today was Er positive meaning my estrogen is telling the cancer cells to keep growing and are spreading. I haven't start treatment yet. I F..king scared as hell . Takes me back to an alternative life. I live a life of reasonable prosperity and success in business which I am now retiring from. But I was brought up in Council housing and my parents were poor. This song sends me back to the semi derelict house we lived in and all the hopes and fears and uncertainties I lived at that time. But we were so happy and our house was full of love and laughter. Siggghhhh. Such a beautiful voice.
Honestly I didn't know about Nightbirde or her song until I saw the Mzansi Choir perform it on The Voice, and I fell instantly in love with it so I decided to do some research on the original singer, only to find out that she lost her life to cancer, I was overwhelmed with emotion and cried so much, because my mother lost her life to cancer as well, so this song now holds a special place in my heart, and I'll never, ever get tired of listening to it

I'm a cancer patient myself.
since i was two i had cancer 5yrs chemotherapy i was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. back then I don't know what it was what i got just taking one day a time. seeing my mom crying and praying I don't know what's going on really cause i had no idea what's in me..... i remember a bit i had a schedule in my doctor back then to get "bone marrow sessions" and treatments... its hard because its very painful everytime i had sessions in my back or spinal cord. my mom always reminds me that its for my own good cries and prays still don't have idea back then . when I'm in highschool I'm starting to realize and knowning what i had... FAST FORWARD.... I'm cancer survivor fast forward today 2024 I'm cancer cured or cancer free. i have a beautiful family now . i had three beautiful children 2 girls and my youngest now my son his at 3y/o now. seeing them everyday growing up so fast right before my eyes its a blessing from God. I'm thankful everyday for it. 🙏
my doctor says alot of her patients back then didn't make it I'm just one of the few. 😢
when she sees me its truly a miracle. i remember when i was in nursery, i get bone marrow treatment not knowing what it was but it was very painful. when i was in elementary i still had bone marrow treatment its painful still not knowing what i had. but when i get to highschool I'm starting to realize and got the idea of what i had and still get bone marrow treatment and what it means somehow it saved me. its really a miracle im so lucky and blessed because alot of my batch back then didn't make it. looking back and seeing my beautiful family its always a blessing and so thankful for it. 🙏

Amazing. A person like Nightbirde comes once in a generation. Not due to her talent, not due to disease, not due to her passing. It's due to the flame she brought to those who knew of her first hand or those of us who stumbled upon her by accident and were deeply touched. Not many people have the ability to touch so many over such a short period of time. So much untapped talent, such limited exposure, yet so many will remember her by the way she lived.
I know right, every time I need some sort of pickup I just listen to this song. For example, when my uncle killed himself just last month, I got home after getting the call on the way and all I thought to do was listen to this song. Even if Nightbirde can't continue to help people how she helped me, I truly am so glad that her song will live on forever and still, in it's own way, make a difference.
What deeply touches me is the fact that she was trying to comfort others, eventhough she was the one who needed it the most 💝 Her voice is outstanding, what wonderful gifts she's left us. She will never be forgotten.
