That was hilarious Merle, Brumby, reckons we should take the barbed wire of the fence, because someone could get hurt. You could tell they were all genuinely laughing at that, not acting. it was funny though. lol
I realise that Maxwell is really protective of Merle and cares for her but sometimes she can be so possessive of Merle and doesn't want anyone else to help her or look after her.
Don't think it's that she is possessive as in not wanting the others to have anything to do with merle it's that she doesn't trust them to be nice and not use merle the more they look after her the more she will learn to trust them but some of them haven't exactly got a good record of looking after merle!!
Pahahaha sweet Merle. "Brumby...she reckons someone should take the barbed wire off the fence because someone could get hurt, and that would be awful wouldn't it?" 😂

It was Gerda Nicklson, and Kate Hood and Lois Colander Lois has longer hair and she looks way prettier than she does on here. I mean she's not an ugly woman but she looks lovelier in the other post on here. I believe it's called Merry Christmas from Mrs Reynolds. And Kate has shorter hair there too.I think Alice looks nice with her eye shadow and her rouge on.
Ohmygawd, that scene with Reno in the dining room sitting to eat with the prisoners kind of took me back to the time I was working on the movie "The Sentinel" (while filming in Toronto) and Michael Douglas actually came into the crew lunch room to have his meal there.. trouble was he just sat at another table with a co-star and didn't have anything to say to the rest of us...boohoo(lol)..

The Mullins girl really was one of the most attractive ladies to appear in the whole series. The first actress to play her was perfectly passable. But once they had apparently (anecdotely) frozen her into ill health, forcing a recast, Terrie Waddell is an absolute stunner in the part.
The Actress playing "Alison" would go on to play Gail Lewis/Robinson in Neighbours the following year. Funnily enough Merv Pringle would play her Dad...Mechanic Rob Lewis.
Anne Reynolds was such a lovely beautiful lady, so sad that the actress died in 91. Some of the others like Bobby Mitchell are no longer with us who passed away this year 2023.
Gawd can we please have one comment thread without miserable people whining endlessly about how they prefer the old episodes with Bea and Lizzie. So frigging tedious. In actual fact these later episodes were very entertaining, and there was a TON of boring shit going on in the earlier episodes (you just have to visit those episodes to see people complaining about plots and characters same as they do here). Basically all it is is that they have a natural fondness for the first characters they knew when they first started watching and the show was new and fresh to them. That's literally all it is. It's like how you have a natural preference for music you liked when you were younger. It's nostalgia more than anything.
Oddly enough I tend to watch the later episodes more. Yes the Barnhurst 5 era was pretty dull but like you say there are plenty of boring phases when Bea was in it particularly that period after Nola Mckenzies death.
@@madwatermelon1316 The most boring episodes in my opinion were those with Karen Travers and her deep-voiced lawyer. Neither character offered much to the story except to detract from the prison and Bea as top dog. Once The Freak arrived, it got slightly more interesting.
@28:15 Why can't Kat Maxwell just tell Rita Conners that she can't get contraband in? K. Maxwell does not have to be stressed out. Let 🕷 Spider handle it.

I like the way Rita, and Kath, protect Merle, although Kath, initially planed to use her as muscle, but then she realised she cared about her.
When Lurch says she wishes Lexi was here... no, just no.
I realise that Maxwell is really protective of Merle and cares for her but sometimes she can be so possessive of Merle and doesn't want anyone else to help her or look after her.
I think she’ll start to trust the other women very soon
I think it is a trust issue, it isn't that she doesn't want Merle to have mates. But that she doesn't trust the other women not to misuse Merle.

Reno eating with the girls is pure gold!! love it! Can you imagine Davo eating with them!?
Davo did eat with them in 1 episode

Davo was a good Governor. She should have been head of department when Craven was there. Davo got rid of Ferguson. Renoyds brought her back.
