This isn't a sleeper. It's a 25 year old high end German sports car. It'd be the equivalent of calling an old Porsche 911 or BMW M3 a sleeper A Volvo 850/V70 T5 or other typical 'boring' family car with a very powerful engine is a sleeper.
I think anything that performs this well, but is a clapped looking dog turd is a Sleeper. I get what you are saying but nobody looks twice or says, whoa cool car.
😊😊😊i got a 1999 5.4 V8. Im changing out the Mass Air Flow Sensor. It keeps dying at 30 minutes. Fuel Pump and filter replaced. Its exaust is awesome. It Moves. Wish me luck
I'm sure you are probably correct, I don't know much about these. When it was listed Wholesale it showed up as an AMG in the listing. Either way she Rips for a turd sandwich
@@SparksNWreckreation Yours has the AMG appearance package and rims, possibly the AMG suspension too. Those CLK's were only like 3600lbs and were slotted above the C-Class but slightly below the E-Class I guess. If you want my opinion, you should restore the body work on this, fix the small bits and resell her!
@@curtisjones8660 It depends on what you define as an "AMG". The CLK 430 was available with an AMG Appearance Pkg. that came with more aggressive front and rear bumper covers, side skirts, lighter 17"(Or maybe 18" on the later models) AMG Aluminum rims, and stickier tires. I don't know if the CLK 430 was available with the AMG suspension upgrades. SO technically, it's a Mercedes-Benz with an AMG package. I think in order for a Mercedes-Benz to be a true AMG has to be made/modified BY AMG at Affalterbach, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. I do not know if AMG had CLK 430's at their factory?
CLK 430 AMG is not technically a true amg. It only has cosmetic amg part except maybe the suspension. it does not have the engine internals and tune that the CLK55 AMG has. The CLK 430 AMG is like the bmw m330i it has an M in it but it is not an M car like the M3. It’s also true that majority if not all AMG spec cars have only two numbers following the class type i.e: CL 55, ML 55, G63, C63, CLS 55, E55 and subsequently. CLK 55(or CLK63). The end all be all is that the 430 is not an amg spec wise. Amg package does not equal amg car. Thats like saying a honda accord with an f1 race exhaust is an f1 car.
@@SparksNWreckreation I beg to differ, these are some of the most reliable and durable MB's ever made! My CLK 55 AMG has 182k+ miles on her with no check engine lights... P.S. Mine is limited to 4k RPM in Park too :/
@@SparksNWreckreation there the dopest car for the money you can buy. You hit the nail right on the head. There is a Mercedes lsd you can swap but it's not common or simple. That was my first thought when I started the video. Working on a 5.0 m113 and manual swap in a 430 rn 🤙
Love the video. Thank you! I have an 02 cabrio that is a joy to drive. Nothing is broken on it. I’m the 2nd owner 132,000 miles on it.

T-5 is not a sleeper. It's a badged performance model. Otherwise, you are right.
What a lame opinion lmao

I have a clk 430 199 and I would like to get another one for parts
Do you want real fun with your clk ? Pull out your stop signal fuse ( right side of your dash)
what is that gonna do
Budget race car? Maybe in USA. In Poland it cost like 10-12k $... you can get some most budget 2 year old car for that money like dacia, renault, kia.
These did not come with an lsd. Really curious how it's spinning both wheels
Maybe someone swapped it. It was a bad ass beater last winter lol
