Many years ago somewhere around 1966 maybe when Stewart at a concert at the Pasco high school auditorium Washington state I was in the front row of the balcony he was my first introduction to country music and I have never looked away he was awesome I am so blessed to have seen him and this is a song on an album I bought when I was in the concert
Taylor & Chris Malpass tweaked the words and actually do a better job usually than this here, what most people think of as the original although Fuzzy Owen used to sing it himself. The Malpass Bros. made this song a regular on their shows. Wynn's record got minimal air play. A lot of country stations at that time were starting country music on its way to the grave with the crossover focused "Nashville Sound" and didn't consider the harder edge Bakersfield Sound real country. They only gradually got into playing the cuts not made in Nashville. How things have changed. Now if it's real country they won't play it.
Oh,but he did forget my name! Great singer and song! Enjoyed hearing it! Thanks, AK!
Nobody comments on this great oldie? Hell I guess there's no one left alive as old as me.
Cheers

The Malpass Brothers do this well. I was in a band with my late cousin Jack Zylks. He would always sing this. Thanks for the memories, Jack.

Wynn is one of the absolute greatest country vocalists of all time. Do I mean it? Well, I named my son after him, so yeah, I do.
Now that’s dedication to a point. My son’s name is Waylon so I know where you’re coming from.
I STILL talk about this song!!! lol
This song is great I should have wrote this myself
"Cool cat"
