    Amari Deberry played 11 minutes, hand 5 rebounds and 8 points. If Amari gets her act in gear, UConn will Level Up.

      It won't matter, because Geno will never play her in a tight game. She only plays garbage minutes.

    The teams hustle is incredible and what's so beautiful to watch is it is not accomplished randomly, it is very organized. In today's game they committed less fouls while applying defensive pressure and all the players with no exceptions understand the positive effect it is having on a game and they have bought in hook, line and sinker! The offense is a thing of beauty but the identity of the team must include the furious tenacity on the other end of the court. Great game today!

    Brady did ok. Deberry was better. Brady needs to quit getting the ball taken away. She is much bigger than the gaurds that pull the ball out of her hands. It happens almost every game. Q is playing better defense and rebounding better.
    Bueckers is at 100 percent now. She is playing her best basketball now. We've seen it on offense before during her first 2 years. Now, she is an excellent defender. Both on team defense and individual defense. She played 2 2/3 quarters and put up great numbers Very efficient . Only needed 10 shots to get 20 points

    I completely agree that if Amari can play like she did in this game, Geno might have the confidence to put her out there more. There are teams UConn will face where they could defintely use both more depth and more size. What I really liked was her points were all scored in the paint (even the free throws were from a post move). She didn't just stand out at the top of the key and hoist up 3 point attempts. Not once. And she set some really good screnes as well.

      She needs to get tough and learn how to Bang inside what's needed from her is rebounding and defense any points are a plus.

      @kirklarson5739 10 месяцев назад

      @@johnklein6040 Hi John--I don't disagree with what you are saying, and especially the physicality part. She did get 5 rebounds in 11 minutes, which would equate to around 12 in 27 or 28 minutes, and nobody would complain about that. Not to mention the 8 points would equate to a team leading 24 if she had played 33 minutes, as Ashlynn did. Of course, she wouldn't likely have actually done all that, but it was a very efficient 11 minutes.

    • @johnklein6040
      @johnklein6040 10 месяцев назад

      @@kirklarson5739 It's true that it was a good 11 minutes for her and probably the best 11 minutes of game time she's had but she's a 6'5" junior I think and been sitting the bench for 3 years so there's something wrong with her or she would be playing more. especially in the most crucial time they need a big, now!

    • @kirklarson5739
      @kirklarson5739 10 месяцев назад

      @@johnklein6040 I can't disagree with you John. She clearly hasn't shown in practice and wherever in a way that has given the coaching staff confidence to play her. Here is the conundrum. For an old guy, I am a highly competive runner--on a national level. You can be fit and not necessarily "race" fit. To be the latter you have to race somewhat regularly. If Amari only plays one or two minutes at the end of blowouts, there is no chance she will develop and show anything on a consistent basis. But I get it, if she deosn't have the coaches' confidence in her, they are reluctant to play her, except at the end of blowouts. Mir McLean wasn't playing much at UConn, transferred to UVA and was averaging a double doubl;e until her really brutal knee injury--from which she is still recovering.

      Can you imagine Paige putting up 25+shots a game and having a 60% TOP like Clark?? She'd be 38/10/ 8 and the winning margin would be >50 a night. Still amazes me that that so called experts look at a medium efficiency stat padding gunner who plays no D( Clark) and see POY. Paige is barrely playing in the second half, is way more efficient, and effects the game in some many more ways...the choice is easy, like it was the last time she played a full season.

    It’s nice to see so many blow-out games. Last year there were so many tight, down-to-the-wire games that could have gone south at the end.
    The team just seems so much more confident than in the past couple of years, great flow, great shooting, great defense!!! 😀
    Now, about all those turnovers. 😖
