Something I learned to do starting when I would brake springs on my Caterpillar tractor walking beam, is like your blue part / spring steel when finished cutting and bending on it is to heat the entire part good and hot and stick it in isolation over night .
This annealing process takes the tension out of the work and it won't break again nearly as easy or often. Good Video Thank you

Do not, ever, put your hand nor anything belonging to your body, under a heavy load. He just didn't realized the same container that went down in front of him can go down again and he put his right hand under that mass chopping bulk of steel.
Don't do it again. Or you'll use the left one, until Jehovah regrow your smashed under a 4.8 Ton container right hand just to save few bucks. Don't play with your body pieces. Protect yourself, and keep inventing!
    Take care! And thank you!
Also, whenever you're placing a pad under your container. Use 2 minimum. Bricks whatever you use, use 2 +. If one decides to break, it'll hit the ground or loose level. 2 +, will back up one.

Great idea. Good try. This is what happened... You heated the metal with the torch and bent it with a hammer... In essence you ''forged'' it and made it hard and brittle. You should have '' normalized'' the metal by heating it red hot and cooling it very, very slowly. This would bring it back to the strength before it was made brittle. Good luck next time.

Let the greater point be this: the guy in the video - probably driven by lack of resources - devised a dangerous device and built it in a substandard way. Why not just use a floor jack and position it in the opening near the leg, that should work.

Gorilla glue would be stronger than that weld 😂

for the top piece, you could have unscrewed the top extender and made a hole to fit the shaft then replace the extender. that is most secure.

You should cut out the base plate so that the blue piece can go all the way to the ground.
And some safety precautions while welding should not be too expensive.

As was mentioned, the jack seals are probably ruined, but on top of that....NEVER put that kind of weight on bricks. I have personally seen them crack, on much less weight. This whole thing was very, very dangerous.
