Idk how old this video is, so they may have changed the design, but I just purchased the 12" version and besides it being truly nonstick, the handle has not gotten hot at all while I've used it. Great review though!!
I’m wondering if it depends on the type of stove. I have an electric stove and the handle on mine doesn’t get hot either. Maybe gas stoves make it hot? I’ve had mine for over a year & I love my pan.
I have 2 8 inch pans and one is 7 months old and the other is 4 months. I do not use any metal on it at all. I use butter and bacon oils for cooking and they both have small spots where the surface is coming up. They are really easy to clean. The handle on both of them does get hot.
I have one. I assumed it wasn't the best quality, but I beat it up and use high heat pretty regularly and it's holding up pretty well. I never use metal on Teflon tho and my apt doesn't have a dishwasher so.
it's a good rule not to use metal utensils or clean it in a dishwasher...it is also good to re-season the pans frequently. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
I just stumbled on your review. I have used an Orgreenic set of non-stick pans. But you absolutely cannot use metal. My 9x13 Orgreenic has some serious scratches just from silverware. I take care of my cookware so I do like the blue diamond set for many reasons. First it uses to lids for four pots and pans. Less to store. However the lids do lack a small hole for venting. An obvious cost cutting measure. Not ideal but easy to crack the lid to let out steam. BTW, they tell you not to use spray olive oil or butter because it can carbonize on the pan quickly. Same reason they say no EVOO. I personally have never had a problem using spray butter or olive oil on mine because I do not allow it to burn before putting food in the pan. In other words people who use their brain should be pretty happy with this pan.
The reason they say no non-stick spray is the aerosol propellents can cause damage to non-stick cookware diamond or otherwise all cookware that I have had states that
I just got one today it worked perfect for me cooking a hamburger I have a electric stove my handle was not hot at all and the food cooked perfectly and even and did not stick easy to clean happy with my frying pan.
I bought the brand X Blue Diamond Skillet and it has a rubber coated handle. Very comfy. Also I've cooked eggs in it with just a little Olive Oil and they come out perfect every time. Cooking them on a bone dry Blue Diamond surface, they taste bad. I really don't get the Sledge Hammer Test, or the Mixer Test, because no one in their right mind does either. A previous ceramic skillet I had, did not tolerate high heat so watch out for that, or you'll be eating ceramic, aka glass, ( the ceramic and metal components expand at different rates and separate when subjected to high heat).
Normally I wouldn't hit a pan with a sledge hammer but the infomercial said it wouldn't dent - so I tried it out. Same thing with the electric mixer. Thanks for sharing your user experience.
I used a Copper Pan and it doesn't deliver the quality as stated in the commercial...😔👎 The eggs would stick, even with grease or butter... Waste of💰💲 I got a $10 pan from Target that cooks excellent with very little butter or grease❗ I have been using that $10 pan for almost a whole year and still cooks great ❗
Notice that during the hammer test, the impact on the competitors pan the man drove the hammer into the pan by keeping force down on the pan. But when the hammer test is done on the diamond pan, the hammer was allowed to rebound or recoil off the pan therefore having less impact or creating a dent in the pan.
I got the opposite results. 😕 I just don't have luck at target, I hate it. Expensive, not very much variety of each item, doesn't have very many of each item, etc. I got a $5.99 pan at the "99 cents only store" & it's way better. I've had it for 8 years. Starting to get slightly (half a very light scratch) worn out but that's only cause I used a knife (wasn't looking & grabbed the wrong utensil, I was doing something else at the same time). But I bought a new one as a backup, who knows, I might accidentally pick up a bobcat earth digger this time. 🤷♀️🤷♂️🚜
Try poaching eggs in it. That was what I was looking for when I bought my pan. I have other ceramic pans and are horrible with poached eggs! You need a jackhammer to get it clean. But the first time I tried the Blue Diamond pan was great. I just dumped the water out and I didn’t even clean it and just put through the dishwasher and it came out spotless! I was sold!!! So I just bought the one for my poached eggs. And I don’t own a sledgehammer!!
Depends on the store but most stores don't grant those "money back guarantee" promises for that reason (people breaking it). I did that once & showed them the box where it said "money back guarantee", they laughed & said "ha! Ya if you got it from the company itself like their manufacturer!!" Another reason why I hate target now. Did the same thing at walmart & surprisingly they had no issue with it & was extremely apologetic about it. I actually started feeling guilty! 🥺 I was destroying something to be a wise ass & walmart took the blame.
I call mine Blue Crap because everything sticks. Tried to make an omelette with 4 eggs they turned into scrambled eggs. I can't believe I spent $45 for a piece of crap.
I find that most of the "non" stick pans will eventually (if not right away) stick. I typically use spray Pam or butter just in case. Thanks for sharing your experience with this pan 😃 👍
yea you didn't put oil in yours.... I use mine 27 times in just 3 weeks, why is my slip and slide , why is my slip slide cause you guys love eating healthy i know. just put oil on it its not gonna make you fat unless you dont have fast metabilisam. eating without oil or butter is disgusting I mean for the eggs no flavor. so im just gonna say you suck at cooking I say it to people who doesn't know how to cook there pan, blame on the pan but not the chef.
"Cheese test passed" you used an extremely high fat cheese so it was never in much danger. Try that with low-fat mozzarella and the results will be quite different. After owning one of these pans for several months I would say that it's a decent pan that works fine if you keep the heat low and use oil but I think mine has already started to warp a little just from using it on 6 or 7 a few times when trying to really brown some onions.
"& use oil" That defeats the purpose of the pan! 😅 Same with regular teflon pans. If you have to use oil, might as well just get a regular pan at the "99 cents only store".
@@HelloHello-hk4sx I hate to break it to you but the instructions literally say to use oil. If diamonds are the strongest & hardest stuff on earth, how the hell did they crush it into tiny pieces & stick it in a pan? & how were they able to do that to all (millions) of these pans?
Absolutely the worst fry pan I have ever had. Scrambled eggs not only stick to it, but after soaking for 3 hours, they still stuck. Junk. Now residing in my trash can.
