From someone who is very old and remembers playing this on the Sega Genesis, the two best ways to score were 1) the “power slap shot” - hold shoot, (note; HOLD shoot, don’t just press it), and down to make sure the puck goes along the ice and it would normally beat the goalie 5 hole. And 2) “the deke” : this was the original “o.p.” move before one-timers were introduced. This works best on a break away. Skate towards the goalie, (if possible, coming in from out on the wing works best but straight at them will work too), when you get very close to the goalie, feint to the opposite side of your handedness; ie, if you are left handed look like you are turning right, right handed, look like you are turning left, then immediately turn back and shot. If you could get 6 breakouts in a game this could easily result in 5 goals once you’d mastered this method.
Honestly I went through RUclips trying to find someone that would explain how to do some dekes in nhl 20 and then I came across ur channel and you and coach jermy have really inspired me to play hockey now I have my own skates and a stick and I just want to say thank you for being an awesome person and bringing happiness to my day every day
I remember the best glitch goal in this game was to hold down on the Dpad when going up the ice, and also shot it 5 hole almost every time. Sega Genesis 94 crushing hits with twitching bodies laying on the ice, blood by their heads LOL
Here's the OP glitch goal. Skate down the left boards, cut across the slot to the right, as soon as the goalie slides over to the right post, shoot left. I think that was the NHL 94 goal. It's been 25 years since I played it.
