But can we just take a moment to appreciate the beauty of The Junior Quartet. I swear the Quartet doesn’t get enough love and it makes me sad. When it comes to the juniors, especially in art it’s mainly the Trio of Suzhui, Ah~Rulan and Jingyi who get acknowledged. Also yes I tend to say Ah~Rulan instead of Ah~Ling solely because I like the name Rulan and the meaning behind it. Also still upset that Zizhen didn’t get more screen time. I mean I know it makes sense considering he didn’t get much time in the novel either, but I mean they could of given him a bit more screen time.
In chapter 81 of the novel Zizhen has more exposure of his character. I hope in the TV series he was among of the juniors who joined the killing in the Burial Mounds just like in the novel.
4 mths later... after the release of S3 donghua...... IMO The Untamed has most of ZiZhen's scenes among all the adaptations. that arguing with his father and that Yao leader is gold! someone need to shut that Yao leader's mouth. blabbing non stop.

I love the bit where you said Zizhen looks so proud of himself and when he nods at Sizhui and Jinyi. He is my personal favourite and I love him and he is so underrated and I'm glad he was included so much in this.
2:25 Sizhui didn't look lost. Sizhui saw the pair of rabbit on the lantern knowing what it means. When animals is drawn in pair, for the Chinese it represents lovers. So when Lan Zhan come back and holding the lantern together with Wei Wuxin it's obvious to him what it meant, he's just shocked. There's very interesting history/folklore about why there's rabbits in the story and in this particular scene it represented what kind of relationship LZ and WWX actually had. The Rabbit God story's a fascinating read.

So when Wei Wuxian said to buy them(although Lan Zhan was the one paying), he was the one giving it to Lan Zhan and Lan Zhan was the one holding it and walk back. It was Wwx's token of love to express his feelings toward Lan Zhan. In the novel, it was supposed to be the butterfly toy that was given to Sizhui. It was supposed to be a pair of butterfly instead of just 1 butterfly toy. If you're interested, then you could Google about the Rabbit God. There aren't much info but the Rabbit God was a representative deity for homosexuality in China, which is why there's so many rabbits in the story.
I love how the juniors went from fearing Wei Wuxian, to following him, and finally to defending him. It’s great to see that these juniors doesn’t just follow the mob but rather learn to see WWX as someone they can trust/defend. I always feel so happy/excited when I see the juniors in the drama - they really add something special to the show.
Especially that scene in burial mounds when Sizhui and Jingyi stand in front of Wei Ying, together with Lan Zhan, to protect him from Jin Ling. And then afterwards, Zizhen standing up for him against clan leader Yao. So sweet. They didn't care about the beef the elders had with Wei Ying, but learnt to see him for who he is.
Zizhen was always left out but I'm glad you included him here. He's the #1 WWX fan boy and defended him even with his friends 💕💕 OYZZ deserves more love 😭🥺
0:32 if you think about it, it's sad bc when Jin ling said this, just shows the fact how he himself feels unsure if he could ever take such responsibility just because he's labeled as a young 'child' to the public. He feels like he rarely gets the chance to actually be independent of something OR himself just because people think him as immature, and spoiled. It's even worse because it got to the point where he started believing in that fact so much that he ends up sticking to it. And the to put the cherry on top is, the fact that.. if Jin ling really did become a sect leader at like 19 or something, just imagine how much low self esteem and low confidence he has in himself.
