- Residents of Desai in Mariannhill west of Durban have told Police Minister Bheki Cele that they are afraid to report crimes for fear of retaliation from gangs.
Cele visited the community after nine suspects were killed in a shootout with police on Wednesday.
Two suspects are still on the run.
