A lot of good memories from the Dallas tunnels system. Just a reminder, this is only one of the Dallas tunnel systems. There is another tunnel system further east down Elm and Main. There was a time, pre-Covid, when you could go all the way from the Indigo Hotel to Lincoln Tower and not leave the tunnels. From Lincoln Tower, it was just a short few blocks to the Renaissance Tower tunnel system. I worked in Dallas for 15 years. I last went to work downtown on March 12, 2020 before our office started working remotely because of the virus. I then moved and haven't been back downtown since. It's kind of sad seeing the effect Covid had on the Renaissance Tower tunnel system. I'm guessing the Comerica Bank Tower tunnel system suffered a similar fate. Great video though, brought back a lot of memories.
Thank you for the comment and the information. Maybe this summer everything will be over with this covid and the lighting up the regulations down there and we'll do another video. Downtown Dallas is fun an amazing place to walk around and visit. Hope you enjoy working from home no more commutes 👍☺️
Used to go to El Centro (the city community college in Dallas) and explore those tunnels. Good times xD. I remember being shocked how intensive they were. Some areas were always filled with business people. Once in a while I see tourists but not so much. Tunnels near the pyramid and the school is often with people. This is pre Covid times. Not sure about now. Seems more empty which is sad
The way you have your camera high for good POV, and your constant narration makes this video so excellent. It's like I'm there with a friend showing me around. My ex used to work at Plaza of the Americas and I would go eat with her at certain places over there, but I still watched this video to see what's changed because I haven't been in years, and because it's a great video. Thanks for the upload! 👍🙂
Thank you for those kind words 👍🏻❤️. Also I was going to tell you that I was down there the other day and they have closed that section I don't know if they're going to remodel but as of now it's closed 😭
@@JohnDaniels thanks for the update! I just got to know about the Dallas Underground Walkway recently. And wanna try it. Your video is so informative, even though for the most part the place was closed due to Covid, really appreciate your sharing! Will be there myself to find out soon....
@@Toyrapy okay that's awesome, let me know how it turns out if you like it 👍🏻😀. Also you should plan a trip to reunion Tower you have to reserve it but you can go up in the tower and walk around and it's not that expensive
Allison Q, sorry, I tried to reply to your comment but hit the remove button by accident and RUclips does not have a restore comment option. Thank you for the comment and I hope you have a great time while you are in Dallas and East, Texas. If you have any questions about Dallas feel free to ask. Take care my fellow traveler.
Some homeless people say they have seen ghost in the underground tunnels. The one story is of a bag lady dress in blue or pink that roams the tunnels. She appears and disappears out of no where. She has been seen in locked down areas. You go to look then she disappears and can't be found. Spooky and strange We need ghost busters. .
I love the Dallas Underground, and I am so sad that so many of the building owners have opted to close their sections. This was happening even before C*O*V*I*D. The people who work in those building support it because it gives them more options for shopping and dining without having to risk street-level traffic and this horrendous Dallas heat, but many of the building owners don't like the extra security required to keep it safe and clean. I do wish that more businesses would get onboard with it, though, and maybe if there were more businesses down there that were open evenings and weekends, it would help. It's the deserted nature of it that makes it a haven for thugs and homeless people. :( Did you ever visit any of the other sections to see if they are open? I'd love to know....
@@dawnpatrick1097 yeah, People know about but just very few people do which sucks. Seoul and Tokyo all have underground tunnels and they're used 100% 24/7. Dallas just Intergrates the tunnels with the D2 subway
You put an hours of operation, but how can management know that everyone has exited the building w/ it being so big?? Heck, I'm almost tempted to go and hide in one of the bathrooms at closing time and sit there for an hour and a half and then go wander around.

My mom use to bring us to these shops when my bro & I were kids. Great times!!
@@theformulated1 I was there a couple weeks ago and it's now closed I don't know if they're going to reopen it at some point I hope so

Thank you Ricardo 😀. I appreciate the kind comment 👍🏻. Once it opens back up will make another video. Take care brother.
I've been trying to get my wife and kids to go explore there. My wife went to El Centro College back in the day. Thanks for sharing this video.

I remember 40 years ago it was a busy vivarant cool place. I still remember the 1st time I went thru there.
this tour was awesome. thank you. couldnt find nothing about the pyramid til now. thanks
You're welcome, glad you liked it 😀, I was down there a few months ago and the whole thing is closed. Not for sure if they are going to reopen.

That's cool, you'll love it 👍🏻
Do you know if they have re-open the tunnels yet?

Yes we went back in the other locations are open so if you have time during the week get down there and explore it's fun 😀👍🏻
With the new D2 subway being built downtown I'm hoping it can bring more life and revitalization to this underground tunnel.
Good information, we'll have to check that D2 out 👍🏻
I have not heard about this D2 thing. I'm going to have to look that up on RUclips or like on google.
Dallas has done everything it can to make a great idea fail. Close it on the weekends, and basically keep it a secret from everyone. Weird !!

@@dawnpatrick1097 I agree and don't understand why because it is really cool.
Did they reopen all the tunnels?
As much as I don't like Texas, this structure of buildings and underground tunnels is awesome.
I been there in a dream once
Wow, that is amazing, you should go there in real life now :)
Oh wow, I need to check it out
If you do let me know what you think about it 👍🏻

😂 that would be awesome 👍🏻
I know it's an old video, but to anyone considering this, consider also three words: plentiful security cameras.
Wow I never been there
I went about a month ago and it is now closed, not for sure how long or if it will reopen
Maybe
John, how is the cell signal down there?
That is a good question, if I can remember I was taking a call in the food court down there
