I’m already about an hour in, almost 2, and that’s about right, the other hour is me figuratively bashing my head on my desk going “Please, just at least notice the barter button, realize that uh-huh means yes”
When you think about it, Kelswole's limited vocabulary makes narrative sense since he spent his formative years in a vault underground with only close relatives for company. He's an anti-social, sheltered caveman. It's not surprising he can't communicate with people outside his group or struggles to understand concepts foreign to him.
One completely unexpected effect of playing an old game: the video is crisp af! I'm watching this at 480p (for some unknown reason) and it's clearer than other videos at 1080.
I'm legit not watching this. The 2hp run in HL1 was PAINFUL. This is gonna suck even harder. A 1 IQ run is like hardest difficulty tier and only something you attempt once you've played the game "the normal way" first and want to explore a bit. No thanks, I'm not watching a newbie try it.
Actually, according Vault Dweller's memoirs (can be found in Fallout 2) that was not a calculated choice. He was chosen by a straw draw. Therefore even 1 IN character could be valid choice.
Kelski I wanna say I found you from you helldivers video but I’ve gone back and watched all your other videos and I want you to know you’re gonna do really well on RUclips, keep it up bro
I actually started playing Fallout 1 recently for the first time, being new to the franchise and I'm enjoying it lots! The show definitely got me to give the series a shot so I'm very happy to see you playing it!
Ah, yes, Fallout 1. Clunky UI but the game is still so good I just love it. Happy to see Kelski stream it, I might decide to do my own 1 INT run (haven't done it yet).
Fallout 1 and 2 are the best Fallout games, you gonna love them At least these games are better than any Bethesda games By the way if you could communicate properly it would be a lot easier to play this game and to find water chip lol
Actually eyes have a higher crit rate, followed by head, then groin. But hitting a male in the groin often results in a knockdown, which isn't the case with headshots and eyeshots.
I wonder with the dynamite and the rad scorpions if 10 seconds is 1 round of combat, a step being 2 seconds would mean that doing more moves in a round means more time passed instead of you being faster which doesn't feel right
Aint no way Kelski streamed and played the first Fallout game *takes a sip from my trusty Vault 13 canteen* Btw in my book Fallout 1 has one of the best openings ngl!

Congratulate your math teacher for failing to convey simple math to you. "I have 34 hitpoints, let's see how much damage the rat does." - rat hits, leaving you at 32 hitpoints - "Oh wow 6 damage."
What baffles me the most about this build is that, despite charisma being your joint-highest skill, you can't actually benefit from it because your intelligence level seems to dictate your dialogue options in this game. However, you have such a low level, you're prevented you from actually engaging with people. It kinda undermines the whole expressed purpose of charisma since most speech options will be limited to you.
Charisma barely affects dialogue, if at all. And yeah, you can't really benefit from speech with a low INT. The way it works is that having more than 5 INT gives you more dialogue options (the more intelligence, the more options will unlock) while having less intelligence limits your dialogue options, down to 1 where you can't communicate at all with npcs. Charisma however affects the initial reaction of npcs, which dictates trading prices and (I think) the success rate of speech checks (but I'm not 100% certain about it). In fallout 2 charisma also affects the amount of followers you can have at once, which makes it much more useful than in fallout 1.
I bet 4 of those almost 5 hours were spent in customization.

This is a true blind run. Doesn't do any research on the game, doesn't read the manual, doesn't even look at the controls
I wish I knew it sooner but F1 opens a list of all keybinds

It is only 16%
Honestly I might just have to try next time 🤷🏼♂️

a tip, the groin is a crit hit most of the time, really fun to see an unarmed build in FO1
i wonder why
Actually eyes have a higher crit rate, followed by head, then groin. But hitting a male in the groin often results in a knockdown, which isn't the case with headshots and eyeshots.
eyes are the best, specially against armored enemies
1 INT indeed
Kelski is really having 1 INT
