Can we talk about how Annie's done a cracking job interviewing him here Like actually having an interesting insightful conversation about things Keep up the good work madam
Conor McKee well what would you prefer? Her turn around and be like "so tell us why you're such a fuck up" She's clearly a genuine fan of the band with a genuine interest in his writing and that shows in the interview in a good way, not a bad way This is an interview for fans of the band and it's pulled off brilliantly in my opinion
This man has my deepest respect. As someone with Aspergers and ADHD, I relate a lot to Alex. Now I’m not sure if he actually has either of those diagnoses, but I feel a commonality at some level. The awkwardness, long pauses, and masked humbleness. Tranquility base has been my mental escape from harsher days for some years now. Wish I could thank him.
That still does not help because it is widely accepted that there is no form of autism or diagnosis that has been roped into autism that needs less support than the others.
Wow. this was the most earnest alex turner interview ive seen in so long. Its less light hearted than other ones where alex would be flirting with the interviewer and they would be asking him empty questions that he already answered in the past. He seems so modest right now and genuinely excited and scared for this new tour. I'm so happy for him he really looks like he's grown 💖
Dude was 19 when he wrote that masterpiece that Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not. It's unbelievable because it sounds great and is a lyrically brilliant album.
@@electraNOIR nah he really did change it up a lot back when AM came out...and then at some point in an interview i think liam gallagher (not exactly sure, could've been noel) just took the piss out of him,his image and accent...and somehow after that interview, the accent came back
Before I used to see his performances and videos and thought that he's quite arrogant, I wasn't expecting a shy and stuttering man who avoids to make eye contact. :O
Its hard to make eye contact when the person interviewing you is constantly looking up at the ceiling trying to "craft" her question just right. Watch her at the beginning. At first i honestly thought she was blind. Her stupid eyes darting all over whole looking up at the ceiling i thought she was goung to come up with a super interesting question......NOPE. But i do agree with your perception of Alex as a person though not exactly what i expected either.
Mufti Hossain for me the first try was kinda rough, but after hearing with the lyrics, the album has grown to me in a way i couldn't presume from the first listen. A really intriguing and inspired art pop/space rock/lo-fi album. It played with everyone's expectations in a very clever way. Props to them. *sigh* He definitely seems more alert and a lot less rambling/hesitating/dodging/loss for words. Was it drugs, tired from the road, being contrary? I don't know. At times it seems one of these or maybe all of these. This is a great interview with a great interviewer who asked very good questions. I am honestly more interested in seeing more videos of them playing the new songs and watching the new interviews than the listening new "concept" album.

He is 32 years old for fucks shake. Of course he is more serious and confident when he talks. I have seen changes in myself and the way I talk from 20 to 24 years old. He is past 30 so of course he seems more mature and serious and down to earth and confident when talking. He's been in the spotlight since he was a kid. He started out as a shy teenager, then as he grew up he made up that cocky and confident persona he had with the hair and the lazy talking that made all the girls go crazy. And now he is all grown up and obviously he is more serious and doesn't need to put on the swager he had in his 20s. He is himself the most I think.
This interview is just something else... He seems so sincere with his answers- No surprise because the interviewer asked some pretty interesting questions.
In 2013-14 he was like "no one's actually interested in what i feel and what I say so i don't give a fuck". but he has truly changed. He is very different now. very honest and free. Not only while talking but while performing as well.
nah it only makes sense. People who like the genres and types of music of wpsiatwin and humbug wouldnt like the types of music and genre of tranquility base. Why would they? Theyre completely different its like night and day.
I have been saying for YEARS that TLSP should do the next James Bond theme song. “In My Room” would have been a fantastic James Bond track. PLEASE consider that soundtrack idea!
