Invest Fest Recap: Earn Your Leisure's Rashad Bilal Addressing the Critics: 20,000-Attendee Weekend

- - Earn Your Leisure CEO Rashad Bilal discussed the recent Invest Fest event with 20,000 attendees.
- Bilal talked about the criticisms, lessons learned, and the positive impact the festival had on financial literacy.
- The festival aims to educate people on financial literacy and provide valuable insights on investing.
- If you want to know more about Invest Fest and Earn Your Leisure, check out the conversation with Rashad Bilal.
As an attendee, I would say here are 3 things that @earnyourleisure has to address to get ready for the next #InvestFest ! 1) Improved audio and seating within the main spaces. 2) Offering Master Classes or Keynote “ speeches” that includes guided presentations or materials, walk-through steps, and strategies ( almost every session was Q&A based making it very difficult to walk away with information and insight around some of the topics that were being provided. We left with a lot of soundbites, but not information.) 3) Improve signage, logistics, and increase of personnel throughout the event (An event must have a production company and or logistics company to support the flow of events, pivot schedules in real time when hiccups occur, and flow attendees throughout various spaces with an event of this size .)
Agreed. I think we have to learn the difference between feedback and being negative. Many people who were disappointed are highlighting valid issues. So the best thing to do is own it and improve for next year. We have to stop accusing people of tearing tearing down Blk people because they are giving constructive criticism. I like EYL. But I didn’t leave feeling like I wanted to return next year. And I had the same concerns. I have been to many a conference. The highlight of an investment conference cant be “nobody fought, the vendor fair and the vibe.” They need to really think about the purpose, desired outcomes and intentionally planning for those outcomes. And finally, they need people who know how to manage a large conference. Bigger isn’t always better - you have to grow with intention. But they have to listen ❤
10000000% agree!!! I flew in from NY. And anybody knows how flying in to an event is an investment in itself. With all the things you mentioned combined with excruciatingly long wait times for food, there’s room for improvement.
That is a fact.@@TheSecretsOfMocha
The chat had a lot of comments regarding people hating. No hate at all. Being able to attend and hear sessions is a vital part of the experience.
@@TheSecretsOfMocha Same. Had a redeye flight from LA with a toddler Friday night, after working and driving 2 hours to the airport. Got to my hotel room at 6am to get a little sleep before experiencing what I commented on below
I like rashad , He is a great speaker but not a single thing was learned at invest fest... it's no beef but he is an excellent salesman I went to investfest openminded and left with nothing of value education wise.
I had fun and if that's the goal they 1000% delivered . But to say ppl got financial education there is just a bunch of lies.
So he can sit up there and spread all of that hooplah the event was 98% concert/party vibes 2% opportunity.
Which isn't a problem cuz there's a market for that and ppl need to understand that before they call Investfest a scam.
It's not a scam it's just a fun get together almost like a finance influencer cookout.
That's all it is don't go there thinking it's a business conference it's a concert with business breakout elements.
so all of the people there on stage speaking, it was a concert? i'm confused
@@xfactor2572 not exactly here’s the thing… nobody is actually spitting game they’re just telling stories & giving motivational pep talks similar to like those forex/MLM conferences except with bigger names.
nothing of actual substance you will leave with tons of motivation
but nothing in terms of tactics, skills, lessons.
Then in between are legit rap performances..
the small breakout sessions have more game but they’re too short to actually get value out of them.
This is why I call it a financial influencer cook out you’re going for vibes and to meet ppl and party.
There isn’t any game being given out but there’s tons of fun, messages of hope and ofc encouraging ppl to spend money
Explain why other people stated that they got a lot out of it. The event was probably not at your level.
@@BkTaxServices I agree but I implore you to ask them to be specific like ask them to break down what they actually learned.. like ask them to itemize the lessons and watch them struggle to figure it out.
Don’t take my word for it just ask them again to break down what exactly they learned to teach it back to you like you’re a kid watch them struggle lol
That should show you what ppl actually did there they had fun they didn’t learn lmao big difference it’s a good event it’s not a good business event see what I mean
Does that REALLY matter? As long as they got what they needed and wanted out of it that is all that matters. It is clear that the event level was NOT for you. With the lineup presented and the overall outline of the event I do not see how anyone could be misled in their expectations.

I wasn't expecting this type of interview. It's good to see honest critiques on this side of RUclips & I respect Rashad even more for addressing his critics. These Guys actually are trying to make investing "Cool".
The only way to GROW is to know about what went wrong.
So making it rain at a “financial literary” event/festival/concert is cool? Selling the lifestyle, no substance is cool? If ppl wanted the “inspirational” speeches. They can pull up a RUclips video. Not spend $3500 for a vip ticket to see this dudes throwing money
Invest Fest was beautiful! I’m so happy I went. And I’m still inspired. They pulled off a really great weekend especially for it only being the third year. It was so nice to look around and see so many brothers and sisters in there just willing to learn. And it was a vibe!! The vibe in there was amazing from start to finish. Anybody hating on Invest Fest was not in the building. The energy in there was amazing. Was it perfect nah but for 20,000 black folks in there on only the third year I think it was dope. I will be attending next year and I’ll have my own business off the ground by then thats the goal
The positive vibes was contagious. In the event and the nightlife was a straight vibe. They did there thing.

I participated in Invest Fest and it was truly a VIBE! Logistics was an issue but just having the section say VIP seating would of alleviated seating issues, more signage/direction downstairs, security was overwhelmed by the people and got lazy I went back stage not having an ALL ACCESS band on...lol all you had to do was be cute and the security was letting people in backstage.

I have a question for anyone who attended this event. Have you implemented anything that was new information from the event? If not, why not? If so, what’s your next step? Since it was called Invest Fest, what is your plan to recoup your investment from this event?
People who went were there for clout or because they were sold and dream and dont know any better.
Ain't no plan.

Yes. A few weeks before investfest, I had a friend approach me about investing in a real estate venture. I declined because I put all of my money into stocks. After investfest I called him and let him know I'm in and I doubled the amount he was asking. This is the result of the real estate advice that was given there ny some of the speakers. I'm also currently looking for homes to buy in different states. I started an llc about 8 months ago, but hadn't started actually working on getting the company up and running, atleast I haven't been consistent with it. I was working on it slowly. Now I'm geeked
I contacted a few Business Attorneys and am confident I will have that business open within the nexy 3 months. There really was a lot of good info there. My omly issue is with myself. I took a lot of notes on saturday, then somehow lost my note book somewhere between my uber and my hotel. But I'm not going to let that stop me.
GREAT QUESTION!!!
I don't knock eyl....but this whole "anti critic" rant is just a way of deflecting the talk of them enabling scammers....outside of that all I can do is salute them.

Rashad, with all do respect man, some of the people criticizing Invest vest are disabled people who literally showed pics & video of how there were no areas for them to see the stage. These people paid hundreds, if not thousands of dollars. These people are your supporters, they MADE the success you're currently enjoying. You didn't really address their concerns directly at all, you went on an unnecessary rant. I unsubscribed from EYL awhile ago because although I'm happy for your success & you guys give great advice. It seems like as the years went on, you guys are getting more & more out of touch, arrogant, among other things. Yes, enjoy your successes, you're entitled to it because you guys worked hard for it. But humble thyself Brotha & never forget what got you guys to this point in the first place. Yes, address the trolls & critics accordingly but not at the expense of your true supporters who've been with you guys since day one, like myself. For the true supporters who had valid concerns, simply apologize & give details or suggestions on how you'll make your next Invest Fest better. Don't go on a rant, address the issue head on, follow through on the methods you will take to make the next event better. And in due time, you probably won't get as many critics as you do now. Just saying.
Maybe you can help them

A As a vip attendee here is my perspective
1) invest fest is NOT about learning how to invest! Let’s just start there. It’s was more of interviews!! I did not pay $1800 for a ticket plus hotel and ect to watch interviews!
2) the vendor market place was nice. But too much of the same type of businesses. The competition to make money would have been very very hard.
3) to call this an education event it needs to be educational information given
4) the fedelity stage was more valuable than the big stage! More gems and information and knowledge was there
5) more food trucks needs to be in attendance. The lines were ridiculously long
I see the arrogance coming out from the pours of Rashad. If he just kept it in the line of symmetry of humility, I would have respected how he and his EYL team put it together, but he decided to allow his true feelings to manifest and basically defecated on those who he believes are not on his level or on the level of what he and his team produced. I wanted to give him and his team their props, but his ego disqualified my compliment. Tony the Closer, you are a real cat and I love how you put the screws to scammers, but give the ones who do right in business and by the people their flowers. Thank you for always keeping it 💯.

Tony so are you saying the same people who don’t have any saving should spend $1200+ they don’t have to go to Invest Fest? Because that’s the audience EYL built their brand on. Invest fest is for the people selling courses…not for the culture, not for the people they claim they want to help because there is no money in it. My criticism is the whole thing is hypocritical can’t claim you are helping people save money by robbing them. If EYL is about business/investing let them start a non-profit for financial literacy and stop pretending they are not a sales funnel for courses.
Tell me 1 investment seminar that is not about selling something. Name 1. Thx
We got our tickets early, they cost $250. Sometimes you have to spend money to make money broke boy. Come outside and contribute to the economy by spending some money broke boy!
@@kevintaylor3780 how much did you spend on your flight, hotel, meals, Uber/Lyft, after the $250? All I am saying is if you are not making money from your business already you shouldn’t spend your last dollars to go Invest Fest. Which is what some of the people who went would do with the “hope” of finding something to save them. Really a smart brother like you needs a festival to start a business? How did other successful black people start businesses without Invest Fest? I hope that $250 turns into millions as they promised. The economy is about to turn and people are not ready. EYL should be straight with people for example saying all are welcome but if you don’t have saving, if this your last dollar Invest Fest won’t save you. It’s not a lottery. Sad you talk about investing with your people when that starts at home. Some people may spend money to feed their children thinking Invest Fest will save them. Same money can be used to go to community college or to get a skill. I am all about supporting our people but lying to ourselves about what we spend our money will only hold us back. A lot people go to these things to see Diddy, Tyler, etc…to party, to got to the after party. Few actually go with support their business plan. Invest Fest was great considering the magnitude of the event. If you went looking for issues to complain about you will find them considering that was EYL first Invest Fest of this size. It will get better each time that they do it. People really don't understand the complex logistics and money spent to have an event of this magnitude with no crime/injuries. I think some of our negative ass people focus on the wrong shit! Who cares what the people wore on stage. The fact of the matter is there are some legitimate issues that I'm sure they will take the feedback and correct going forward. Salute EYL!! Did anyone receive information that they could use to make their lives better? that is what really matters.

I seen the same love and support at the Tulsa Real Estate campaign to raise money. Everyone got scammed. Yes networking can get you in rooms but it's very hard to build genuine connections after a 3 day conference. Most these events requires an upsell of another high ticket product to learn something. The money is in throwing these conferences. I think Tony wants the recognition but should remain true to his brand and stand on his own. I was at his Las Vegas event and it really made an impact and didn’t milk ppl to get ahead.

These people are rather clueless to their own blindspots of how they are helping to make the problem worse in our community. They built their wealth off of scavengerism of the community. That's what wholesaling, house flipping, selling courses, crypto, etc is. They also teach people to be scavengers. For Rashad to skate criticism by saying "I'm not an activist or political person" "we're just having fun" "I come from nothing" shows a lack of maturity. It shows that they do not understand the times we are in, the MASSIVE distraction and impediment they are to the community and activist trying to do the politics to uplift the entire collective and the toxic egos they have developed from their success.
What they do is rooted in hyper-individualism masked in collective uplift and because they don't know the data and don't have the contextual understanding of the severity and the immediacy of our problem, they think they are doing something to help when in fact they are accelerating the collapse of the group. That's why you have to be political because politics is your life and business, wealth and politics are intertwined. These things cannot be disjointed and his desire to separate from politics is another way of saying "I DON'T WANT ACCOUNTABILITY." Policies are what uplifts a group not performance and these guys are performers.
White America didn't establish a 120 trillion dollar wealth divide in this country in less than 30 years by hosting an #investfest. They did it by using wealth-building policies like the New Deal, the GI Bill, FHA loans, redlining, Quantative Easing, the tax code and engaging in real politics that they weaponized again us.
It is the lack of information coupled with the ego of these people including Tony that keeps them from seeing the bigger picture. The overuse of the term "the culture" is a PROBLEM and an display of intellectual laziness. Pointing out that there were no fights or that people were crying after hearing people on stage is not an indication of a group in economic collapse being able to reverse that reality. It's just a bunch of people using marketing strategies to feed on the emotions and desperation of people whom they can exploit. If you never have a commitment to changing the system but only to teaching people how to exploit it, a system that has been fine tuned to exploit us as a group by making us a contagion to wealth, then you are nothing but a person training other black people to exploit their community as a means of escapeism.
Definitely can respect the civility, but it seems Tony is jockying for a position on the stage next year to fulfill the void that Jay Morrison robbed him of.
Tony definitely jumped the fence and threw Eli and JT under the bus, which isn't honorable at all, and makes it seem as if it aint stepping on Tony's toes or in his real estate lane, he can be compromised through compensation or a back scratch.

We spent 400K for metal detectors… okay??? You do what you have to do to protect your investment
The point was they were not aware of the impact on entering the building.
I can't believe he sat here and bragged about metal detectors and no fights. Should have spent that money on Audio so people could actually hear smdh 🤦🏾♀️
Great conversation gentlemen! The event was amazing for those who thought it was amazing. For those it wasn't amazing for, it's ok. It wasn't meant for them and that's right, can't please everybody, ever.
The real ones dont need the stage of others to shine. Tony you will level up on your own. If they won't give you a stage to stand on build your own. I am not really fan of them but I can appreciate the movement and what his events did for the small business vendor and anyone who came there thirsty for knowledge, I also like what he did as far as the security detail. We have a lot of bad players in our community but if brothers and sisters can come together like this and it creates positive output I can only applaud it
😂😂😂😂😂
Please keep this same energy when you're on JT's channel Tony! LOL
Just did last night wtf do you think I am? Jt knows very well how I feel we don’t agree on everything
Cause wtf is this shit.
@@TonyTheCloserThey were throwing the ppl’s money. You was mad when Jay styled on you with money you invested though! That’s not keeping the same energy Tony
@@Ishbikes shut up they threw fake money
This dude mouth permanently open
Very mature of you to critique and show love equally
tony give me wendy william vibes .... #Salty
So All the people complaining! This is why you need to start your own shit, and you won’t care about these folks because you got your own groups and business and money! Go on a Tear with businesses IT’s available to All!
😒 I purchased the invest fest tickets by accident, honestly that shit was “hip hop church” for entrepreneurs. I’ll never go again 😂
Dammmm ya crib spacious as hell❤
Sad. I do not here or see any deep research being brought forth. Present then produce real research and measurable results. We talk to much and produce so little.
I wonder what the turnout will look like next year after all of this. Very telling interview. Wish y’all all the best on your financial journeys! ❤
So will the people who paid for VIP that didnt get seats get their money back??? 🤔A service was paid for that didn’t happen….🤷🏽♀️
Tony, you want to be on stage to talk about what? Middle manning real estate?? Respectfully…
😂😂😂😂
Tony, tell Nichole that I loved her segment on Invest Fest.
Proud of EYL great job 👏🏽
I like the event I just think logistics need to be better. I hated seeing many ppl standing up.
Is this guy Tony closer like some type of ultimate judge? All is see if people working hard him sitting back critiquing like he’s this judge or something. Also, does he only do this to black businesses, or to all businesses. Man, I’d be like if you don’t get outta my face.
So was this event dope in terms of a party, or were knowledge and actionable steps on investing given? What was the value of the $1800 ticket....? It looks like an expensive ticket for a Ja Rule concert....was this the Fyre Festival for black people? This interview is interesting, given how tough you've been on @PocketWatcherJT 's channel...
Lol Tony trying to be on the next one
Ard now im confused cause your main man Eli got pressed by these niggas. And they introduced Greg and a few other scammers like 19 keys to our community. Naaaa bro come on please tell me this was an error on you and your team and not you falling to the system (Respectfully) im just lost idk whats going on can you clarify it
It’s some fake shit going on here and I can’t stomach it.
Rashad you are a basketball player and not an actual financial advisor! Your other guy is a PE teacher, with NO financial background neither.
Y'all are con artists... preying on a specific group of people who have hopes and dreams....
It's cruel what you all are doing out here.
But trust, we peep game.
This sad we so lowly as of ppl he's bragging abt linen and glasses etc.. making it rain now look at what REAL wealthy people talk abt and the stuff they don't mention is killing the little stuff we brag abt. How we gone grown this why everyone else owns all the businesses and houses in our community
Take the criticism and strive to make it better No Excuses!!! Improve on it!!!
Honestly, wondering anyone learn anything? If anyone went would love to hear what you learned
People love to complain and not have an alternative. I want us to do better.
That alternative humbles them. That's what they hate
@@djholidaytv414 it’s far easier to just point out flaws than show n prove.
Scammer the people ain't the solution either. I would rather people not have a solution and call out scammers, than having a scam as the only solution.
The event was not perfect. The event was NOT for everyone.
u just wanted to be part of the club tony 😂😂😂😂😂 every1 eyes are open to the real u
"Hate is confused admiration" Thats a Nas bar not yours lol
This a beautiful financial event.❤
I don’t respect these dudes because they didn’t get there money by starting growing and managing a profitable business.
I don't either. Everytime they speak all you hear is people hating on us. Show me a detailed case study of someone who went to Investfest and applied it to something . Show me the money.
Well doesnt look like he will be on Pocket Watching anymore 😂
I love you guys! Real talk and value! Salute 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥💯💪🏿💪🏿💪🏿 I’m there next year.
Jeff Jaye Williams
Can you send me the letters I need to fix my credit
That's what's up Brotha's! I appreciate this video.
Is it true Envy taking you to court?
I really appreciate this video ! I hate they have to explain themselves every step of the way but if it gives the negative Nancy’s an answer whatever ! They’re only on year 3 and people want them on the same level as festivals that are on year 20! These guys are doing something that has never been done before and people want to find stuff to complain about
