It's a very cool place. It was fun to go back to where it all started for Sam back in 2013 filming for Coast Guard Alaska and then the Hunt for the History Channel.
What an absolute dream hunt and experience. Who wouldn’t want to hunt Alaska for bucks 🦌🦌🦌 and ducks 🦆 🦆🦆🦆? I know that I would. I was blessed beyond measure to win a hunt for waterfowl (mostly Pacific Brant and Canadas, with a few teal and mallards 🦆 mixed in). We also went after ptarmigan and did silver salmon fishing 🎣 and off shore fishing for cod and halibut. Hopefully 🙏 I can make it up there someday soon once again. Perhaps for big game next time. Anyway congrats to you both on this epic adventure. I can tell that this was from 2022 since Alaska changed their tags 🏷️ for Sitka Blacktail from 3 to 1 for 2023.
This video popped up in my feed after watching the Gritty Kodiak hunt series.. watching this really drives home the next level that Brian & crew put into video production and the attention they put towards the viewers enjoyment and education of the strategy behind the stalks… unfortunately this film fell far short and seems as the viewer was never really meant to be part of the experience …
Appreciate you checking out the video and for the comment. I know Brian well and him and his team definitely do a great job on how they put things together on film. Always up for some good constructive criticism and with any luck we can “hit the mark” for you on future projects. Cheers and good luck with all your future hunts and videos you produce.
Hey! Good luck! You'll have a blast. 1) make sure you have all of your tags/harvest tickets ready to roll. We had a bit of a mishap there and it cost us a half day of hunting haha. Other than that, don't be surprised if you have to hike up to the deer. We had a fair bit of snow on the ground and still had to head to the tops of the ridges and back a ways to get in on stuff. It's a great trip. Steep, and the alders suck, but it helps that all the leaves are off that time of year!
Its legal for blacktail. But we actually didn’t hunt the day we flew in. We hit the beach for our first day of hunting the following morning after we had flown in.
Yep, this hunt was from 2022. Also agree that it was a good rule change to limit the deer harvest. At least until the population rebounds. Plenty of other awesome opportunities up there for ducks, fishing, etc. Cheers
Incredible adventure Sam! Well done from start to finish. 🤝
Thanks! Appreciate it! It was a blast of a trip!
Awesome hunt, fellas! Thanks for letting us tag along!
Thanks, boss! Appreciate it!
Adding this one to the bucket list! Awesome hunt!

It was a fantastic experience!
@@soholtbrothers no doubt about that fact. Good luck 🍀 if you’re applying in the Alaska draw before Dec 15th.
Amazing gentleman! Jealousy can be a dirty emotion … I'm feeling pretty emotional... and dirty lol

Didn't know you could fly and hunt the same day???

Must be from 2022. Non residents are only allowed one deer as of 2023. Finally.
