    There is a famous incident where a first lady, Elanor Roosevelt I think, was going to have the White House rose garden dug up. At that moment the spirit of Dolley Madison appeared and told her "Don't you dare touch my roses!" I don't know if it really happened but it's a great story.

    The see-through figure was a common occurrence when the camera used a longer exposure time to get a picture where there wasn't alot of light. A person might walk into shot, stand there briefly and then walk away. The exposure time then has recorded the spot where the person was standing with the person in it but also not in it. That produces the see-through image. The people that are not see-through were posing for the camera and standing still.

    I rea lly enjoyed all of the photos in this series. I studied the Dyatlov Pass incident in detail and those various TV programs that stated that they died in an avalanche are completely untrue. They were too high on the mountain and were not in an avalanche area at all, nor were there bodies or tent buried at all. The black shadow figure in the photo was a yeti/bigfoot creature that they talked about in their diaries. This was not a photo of another member, like many critics have stated. The UFO theory has some credibility because the town of 10,000 residents at the bottom of the mountain, saw 3 disc shaped objects flying over where the hikers were located. The very last photo taken by the hikers was actually a bright disc shape object in the night sky. The hikers bodies closely resemble cattle during UFO cattle mutilations. Thanks for all of the great photos everyone!

      The Dyatlov Pass pic of what they claim is a bigfoot is wrong. If u look close it appears to have dark clothes on and a hood pulled down over it's face. And I don't think its a member of the group either. I believe it was the government involved and that was someone spying on them. There government is just as bad as ours on lying and covering up stuff.

    • @jeffersonlee2582
      @jeffersonlee2582 Год назад +4

      I am sorry, but I have done a tremendous amount of research and can shoot holes all day in the avalanche theory. The location of the hikers was not in an avalanche type of area, too steep and near the summit. The holes in the tent were facing the woods not the summit above them. The tent was not buried under the snow, which speaks for itself. The hikers were spread out over a mile area and died at different times. Some of the hikers used the clothing off of the dead bodies for themselves and even built fires. The avalanche theory does not explain the massive injuries and radioactive presence in a couple of the bodies. The last photo taken was of a bright object in the sky. The lead hiker was familiar with this territory and knew where the avalanche danger zones were located. There still has not been one theory mentioned yet that can not be debunked at all.

      I didn't comment on the other pictures because I wasn't sure what I was seeing. The one at the White House could be due to long exposure/slow film too. As I look at it more I think that's the case. I'm guessing the photo was a fairly long exposure and the "ghostly" person came into frame toward the end of it - walked in fast enough to not leave an image, stood still after that to be partially exposed on the film.

    Photoshop didn't exist, but analogue photomontage has existed since the dawn of photography in the 19th century. I think that a creepier fact than these photos is that Victorians photographed themselves next to their dead relatives before the latter's funeral, as a way to remember them. The dead would be put makeup on and propped up to appear as if still alive.

      THIS! I always question videos and photos where they capture something in the background but were off center. Or these tiktok dancers who clearly are not actually doing videos of their dancing to post. Never in the center or the frame. Always the perfect angle to catch the figure behind them.

    • @fairygoth-mother7341
      @fairygoth-mother7341 Год назад +2

      @Margaret Jones TLDR: the camera made it hard to get the image in the center, and the film processor usually didn't correct the problem. DETAILS: Cameras in 1967 were still relatively primitive. The old Brownie and others had the view finder on top. It was a box camera and you held it in front of you and looked down into the view finder. The image you see in that finder is upside down and backwards. It made framing the photo challenging and took a lot of practice to get good at it. It also was a slow shutter speed camera (long exposure) as well as slow film (meaning you needed a bigger aperture and longer exposure to get a fully exposed image). All this often meant poorly framed, poorly exposed and often out of focus pictures. If you took your film to a photo processor to be developed, you had no control over how the photo was cropped. Some of them would correct the framing by printing the photo with better cropping. Most of them just printed it directly from the negative, bad framing and all. I've even seen prints with images that don't show on the negative - meaning something got into the printer to alter the final image (dust, hair, etc.). Take all photos, old and new, with a grain of salt. Photo retouching has been around since the invention of the camera. You cannot trust that what you see in a picture is real.

      @@clothilde1623 2 points. You are correct the photo could be cropped in some fashion but honestly it doesn't look like it.
      2 That is true today however during the time this photo was taken it was an expensive hobby. My point is that when people took pictures back then they would take care to frame each and every photo.
      In today's world you can literally snap pictures all day and it won't cost you a dime. Thats not how it used to be. Film was expensive. Cameras were expensive and it was a process to have the film developed.

    The Screaming Ghost: I'm skeptical that this is a paranormal image. This looks like a long exposure photo using a rather slow film (probably ASA 100). The trails of light, the extra images around the doors, the fuzzy light behind the car all make me think that people were moving around and manipulating the car while the photo was being taken and/or the camera during the shot. I would bet the face of the "ghost" was a person who moved quickly through the frame while the image was being taken. They were closer to the camera so the light source lit up their face, but the body wasn't caught because it was dark (police uniform). The twin trails of light on the left side is probably light reflecting off a belt buckle or something on the person's clothing. The fuzzy images behind the car look like people too. They were probably there for a portion of the exposure and then moved out of frame. Not paranormal. Just old fashioned film camera and the odd things that can happen as a result.

    5:51 This is another example of old film photography creating "ghostly" images due to the way the camera works. This is another long exposure photograph with a flash. The baby next to the headstone is more blurry than the other children because he/she moved during the shot. The person in the background is someone walking past. The face is washed out because it is overexposed by the flash. Most like this person is a woman wearing a veil over her face which will really scatter the flash into overexposing her face. The top of the headstone is brightly lighted too, and super clear. This is because the stone doesn't move and the flash brought it into sharp focus. And although photoshop didn't exist, photo retouching has been done since the advent of photography. If this isn't due to overexposure, it could be that the image was retouched to blur her face from the picture. Not paranormal.

    Another scary sighting of Lincoln's ghost was 1942, Queen Wilhelmina heard a knock on her door, late at night while visiting the White House, when she opened it, she saw Lincoln standing in the hallway!😳 He was also seen occasionally , staring out his bedroom window at the Potomac River. And, sitting at the foot of his bed, putting his boots on. One of the best documented hauntings of all time!

    • @clothilde1623
      @clothilde1623 Год назад

      That’s awesome. If memory serves, Churchill saw him standing by the fireplace and leaning on the mantelpiece in the room in which he was staying. And Churchill was _not_ a man who would make something like that up! I completely believe that people have seen him in the White House, though I think it might be a residual haunting - ie an ‘echo’ of the past - rather than an active one because as far as I know, no-one has reported interacting with him at all.

      @@thecoolcreativebuildchanne2613 That’s a very good point - if we have that many reports from people who say they’ve seen him, imagine how many there likely are who have seen him but never mentioned it, through self-doubt, fear of being ridiculed, sheer disbelief and any number of other reasons. He certainly seems to be a ubiquitous ghost! Which is another reason I reckon his apparition is residual. Given the worries and emotions he must have experienced, and the indelible imprint he made on history, he seems like the perfect candidate.
      Speaking of which, have you ever looked into the hauntings at Gettysburg? I find it SO fascinating! Again they seem to be residual, with gunshots and cannon fire frequently heard and Civil War era uniformed soldiers regularly spotted all over the site. It doesn’t surprise me at all given the death toll, heightened emotions and mass trauma that occurred there. And interestingly enough, the Battle of Gettysburg we’re all familiar with wasn’t even the first battle fought on that ground - there was at least one Native American conflict in the exact same area.
      It’s on my bucket list to visit but alas I’m in Scotland and perpetually broke. Well at least one can still dream!

    Regarding Dyatlov pass photo of the dark figure in the midst of the snow covered trees… When you take a fast screenshot of the photo while playing the video on your iPhone and use the camera functions you can make it clearer. You can zoom in, tweak the exposure just a little, and then use the sharpening tool and it quickly becomes apparent that it's a human wearing a jacket that is a lighter color than the pants. There is some kind of pin or name tag or something metal on the left upper chest near the shoulder. And the pants go down and gather just below the knees into boots. And the figure is wearing gloves that are darker than the sleeves of the jacket. he's obviously got a hat and ski mask. And we don't even know if the hikers even took that photo… Because you only see that enlarged section… There's no other context with it to know if that photo is taken at the outlaw pass by the hikers.

    I question the photo in the basement/washroom. Anomalies that are seen in pictures that are being taken for other reasons such as celebrations, family photos etc are more believable. Photography was expensive back in the day and I can't think of a reason why someone would snap a picture of an empty room unless of course she actually saw it at the time she took the picture.
