    They are really effective against large ships tho

    remember that the rockets are less for killing people, and more for scaring them
    the rockets can cause large units to rout even if they only lost 10 men from a barrage
    they also work well against ships when using rocket ships

      oh and they’re also good for destroying fortifications, 5-6 volleys by one rocket troop can knock down a wall, and it only goes faster with more rockets

      the rockets can cause large units to rout even if they only lost 10 men from a barrage" All art scares enemy units when they come under fire. And therefore if the other art kills more men rockets are rendered redundant.
      I will say agree that they are great for ships.

      They have some novelty is sieges but why not use mortars. They are more likely to kill enemy troops. They are useful in all battles by comparison and mortars hit their shots far easier in terms of less RNG for every individual rocket.

    Well yeah, when they are used against a small thin target of course they would be ineffective. Try using it against multiple infantry blocks and see if it still sucks.

      yes they still do suck. Ive had an army of them lose against 3 Regiments of Line.

    These guys are good if used in large numbers against native factions on the Indian subcontinent, since they tend to have very large units.

      @@thetotalwarsmaster 1 v 1 yeah, of course it's gonna lose. But you don't use them that way. You have like 4 of them in an army with other unit types to protect. In certain factions they outperform all other artillery in my games. I've had them route whole armies before they get into gun range. Granted, this is campaign, but I love them. Not trying to say they're always better, but they can be very powerful

      @@DrFeltcher the 1 v 1 shows their kills inflicted over time. A howitzer or traditional cannon will do far more damage, both close and at range.
      These lead to better and more flexible armies.
