I would just like to ask but what is it you do outside of RUclips as the armies you have built up and ongoing must have cost a fare bit of money. Also what age are you aswell? I know this is very personal questions just I find it hard to try and spend with family life. Thanks in advance and I look forward to seeing the necrons back in the games

Amazing BatRep as usual. Such stunningly painted models from both armies! The Thousands Sons psychic might makes me think they would have a good match up against a solid Grey Knights army. A clash between the Imperium's Jedi and the Chaos Sith has the makings of a great batrep I think!
Awesome game with beautiful armies.This thousand sons list is nicely well rounded,and can be a tough nut to crack when played defensively.I personally would probably drop a squad of terminators and put in maby a dred or pred to help out with some long range anti armour.
He might not have had it equiped. Misericordia's are 4 points each, and with how expensive Custodes are, I don't plan to take them when I finally get the last few boxes I need
Nice painted armies, but this was over before it started. Smite is just one of the things broken in 8th ed. There was no way the Custodes player was going to win.
It was an exciting battle. At the begining I thought the Thousand Sons will just steamroll the Custodes, but in the end they put up a good fight. Thousend sons did what they do best. Keep calm and keep smitting :)
I cannot think of a more unbalanced match-up in 8th than this. The most expensive point for wound army against eight smites a turn before the other mortal wound spells.
I dont know why the host gets all worked up in these games... Dude took a Land Raider and a Dreaddy, and only 3 Bikers. It was literally over 1st turn when the Bikes suicided into the Daemon Prince No hate at all for the Custodes player, but it was not his game to win. Smite spam is gonna knock you down, especially when you're losing 1/4 army a turn from it.
Well, his bikers had a chance to kill the Daemon Prince with this stratagem, but his dice failed him and SS saved nearly all the attacks. But yeah, smite and mortal wounds are so powerful against Custodes.
@@klinktastic The stratagem, as someone mentioned in another comment, was actually incorrectly used. Piercing Strikes only applies to Guardian Spears. Upon running the maths, on average, that DP was never gonna die to the charge, and I think losing only decently mobile part of the Custodes force was the death knell for their objective game. As said, don't think it was a fair game at all, but that's pretty much standard on this channel. That poor Death Watch player...
Custodes is just a bad matchup against thousand sons. "smite spam" isnt effective against an infantry focused guard army (alot of wounds no saves) but is effective against custodes who have limited wounds protected by high invuln and armor saves.
@@lukecasey2830 < Infantry Guard player. Smite spam scares me less than their Bolters. :P As said, it's pretty typical for the host to have outrageous matchups. It's why I don't watch much on this channel anymore. It's always these one-sided massacres with the same army liste.
@@Harleqyin Mistakes were made, apologies for them and I did catch it eventually. Anyway I'm usually better. I've played more with my Blood Angels and Black Legion. At the end of the day it was fun and a challenge
Luke please bin those dice lol, Sentinel blade hits at S5, unfortunately piercing strike can only be used on guardian spears and not interceptor lances or axes etc. Also land raiders are still pretty terrible, but I'm sure you figured that out, anyway good hunting with the finest of the Emperor
Custodian Land Raiders are anything but terrible. They can easily make Eldar lists cry when you use two of them. One CP and you can ignore any minus to hit.
@@jasonfry2096 Space Marine Land Raiders are still not the best, but Custodian ones that hit on 2's get the stratagem with 2 of them to ignore all minuses to hit and have a permanent six up feel no pain isn't bad at all in the slightest.
@@chewie948 My suggestion to you is Forgeworld, get a Tellemon and some Grav Tanks. That'll help quite a bit, plus Sisters of Silence, you could have completely shut down their first psychic phase with them.

Not only was the custodes list terrible in general it was bad for this match up. I'm not saying list cater but at least give your self a chance. Also the custodes player messed up a lot of things that could have helped him out. I would recommend referring to your codex as often as possible next time.

they do have damage 2 weapons. IT is strength 4 not 5 and rend 1 not 2, the damage is 2 though. So spears and axes shooting = ST 4 AP -1 DMG 2. The dude was shooting at ST5 AP-2 DMG 2
Not a great deployment for the Custodes. You had a whole squad of guard that couldn't shoot. Better to stay further out of threat range not lose so many wounds on the land raider first turn get more shooting in and let the TS army spread out then charge. You wouldn't of gotten such a bad smite first turn. Really though you need impregnable mind and/or a culexus.

GW, it's absolute BS that the Grey Knights have the worst version of smite in the game and there is no narrative reason for it. 12" range with a max 1 Mortal Wound is an absolute joke. You've changed 1000 Sons, so it's not impossible. Sort it!!!
I know this battle report had nothing to do with it, but I watched that first psychic phase and it annoyed me haha. If that were grey knights against a chaos war machine, I doubt it would have breached the top bracket let alone left it on 2 wounds
This was a very uphill battle for the Custodes player. They can't compete against smite spams. Too lopsided of a battle, in my opinion. This sounds like shade, but just being a little blunt.

On a d6 system it doesnt matter how elite an army is as you will roll those 1s.

The custodes player forgot to use Trajanns misericordia attacks.

castalan axes are strength 4 not 5, they are rend 1 not 2.
Axes are S+3 and -2 with D3 damage.

Why do custodes players on yt always use landraiders? they are way to expensive in a custodes list. Horrible choice.
