That’s so true. Carl is so great. R&B artists on Hip Hop labels never really got the extra boost they needed in the R&B space. I love Christion too. That first album is a classic. Like Carl’s!

I think the next step for this podcast is inviting celebrities (actors, artists from other genres) to discuss their R&B memories + Top 5. That’s how the hip hop and rock podcasts break the mould, we need heated discussions and debates about the most moving genre (gospel is rnb too), it is also the genre with the most longevity…nobody outgrows r&b, most tap in when love hits.
I remember when Florence (+ Machine) spoke about how 90s rnb, en vogue ‘don’t let go’ was a huge influence on her music and singing, that’s how far reaching the genre is.
I want whole songs & I need J to sing at the very least his part on slow because I need it
