THIS VIDEO is quite timely, because APRIL is Organ Donation Awareness Month!🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 It’s April 30, 2024, so you got it in just under the wire! My 39-year-old son donated his organs after having a drug induced asthma attack on Christmas morning 2023, and after days of neurologist, checking for brain activity, we were told on the Friday after Christmas Monday that his brain was no longer active. so my son was able to give his strong heart which was a perfect match for someone in their 30s and my son was 39 himself. When Jeff in this video, talks about all the testing they do before hand to be sure his kidney would be a perfect match for the person he gave it to all those tests. My son did while intubated in the hospital. Once they determined his brain was no longer active. And the blood!!🩸 ooh my goodness! They do a lot of bloodwork. Had an ultrasound of his heart to check the size and he also had either an MRI a CT or both I can’t remember now If anyone’s interested in signing up to donate your organs after you’ve gone and don’t need them anymore, I’ll try to put the link. 🔗 For ANY STATE: registerme.org/ ORGANS! Why take them with you? Heaven doesn’t need them!
@@tkdevlop It’s actually illegal to sell body parts. Just FYI. Not that ever stopped anybody from doing things they shouldn’t, but it is illegal nonetheless. 😮
My mother had kidney cancer when I was 3 and had a kidney removed. She lived 50+ years cancer free. My dad was born with only 1 kidney and lived to be 90 years old. I have survived 10 years of kidney cancer. Prayers
I just said a prayer that you’ll be cancer free soon and live a long life like your parents. I hope you will feel comforted knowing that God is watching over you.
Thank you. I just want to give hope to anyone facing kidney cancer. My mom ‘s surgery was in 1958. Her incision went all the way around her except about 4”. Mine was caught early enough that it was treated by ablation, no incision.
I haven't even finished watching the video but I've just got to jump in and say Jeff and Tess are obviously two INCREDIBLE human beings. I am truly in awe of their sharing and caring spirits. God Bless them BOTH!
They are definitely the opposite of selfish😂🎉 two people actually met that would carry somebody else's child for them and the other give up a kidney. It's definitely a good match! I didn't even mean to make that a pun. You just don't find people like this much anymore❤ wow just wow!
As a Registered Nurse, I applaud your efforts to stay transparent on your health journey AS WELL AS bring focus into organ donation. WOW!!!! Truly inspirational on so many fronts!!!!!!
My husband is a recipient of a kidney transplant 22 years ago by a good friends wife! Thank you Jeff for being so selfless and your wife as well. What an inspiration.
What a beautiful succession of selfless gifts. I am the recipient of a transplanted kidney. This donated kidney saved my life. If anyone is interested in donating a kidney, please contact your closest university medical center. You can be matched and evaluated to facilitate a miracle in someone’s life. God bless all, especially organ donors.
What a great story, thanks for sharing! I have a cool kidney story to tell. A team at my job met weekly to make sandwiches that were served as part of the meal for the homeless. Besides the meal, we also helped the homeless get photo ID. Marlene was the heart of the project, always looking for ways to get supplies and more hands to help. Over the years we had made over 140,000 sandwiches. Marlene had given her husband a kidney years ago but now he needed a new one. The call came and he went in for the transplant. They didn't know who the donor was but someone let it slip that the donor was a homeless man. He had elected to be a donor on his photo ID. And where do the homeless get photo ID? The same place where they get the sandwiches Marlene and I made and served every week. So in all likelihood, the kidney that's keeping Marlene's husband alive belonged to a guy who was nourished by one of her sandwiches. ❤❤❤
It's hard to find two good people like these and then for them to find each other and get married that must be divine intervention. May God bless you both.
Brian, I am 65, had a kidney removed when I was 5. Back then doctors were 'no contact sports, no heavy activity, antibiotics forever, yada yada yada' I just retired from 43 years truck driving, mostly heavy construction. Rock cimbed, rode horses, skiing, etc. One kidney has made absolutely no difference in my life. Don't drink, don't smoke, stay hydrated, just live & love your usual life. Best wishes for a quick recovery. Jeff, stay well. Quick edit - Kidneys have always been removed from the front. The muscles & nerves on the flank don't take happily to being cut. My scar is from my sternum to my pubic bone. A bit drastic.
Wow! Jeff and Tess are incredible human beings! So selfless! Sending prayers for a successful surgery and complete and easy recovery and no more cancer for you or Jessica!
As a Dialysis Nurse the Gift of a Kidney is truly life changing. Donal ting a Kidney a huge consideration but something that is easier and accessible for most folks is the Gift of Blood Donation. Blood always needed and you never know when it is yourself or a loved one that will need Blood or Blood Products. I gave blood while I was able and in our busy lives it was a fine 30 minute rest while doing something awesome... 30 minutes included a wonderful cup of coffee 💜
As a liver recipient, thank you SO MUCH for bringing awareness to organ donation, and specifically living donation. Appropriate month, as well, since April is Donate Life Month! Good luck to you in the coming weeks--been thinking of you and the girls!
Listening to Jeff was like de-ja vu. I am a kidney donor and living with one kidney for 28 years. I was not as fortunate in those days to have the surgery done laparoscopically so I have a huge scar around my waist. Recovery was long and painful but was back at work in six weeks. The other reason they take the left kidney when possible is because the left kidney has a longer artery which they need for the 'hookup' into the recipient. Be careful with over the counter medications and regarding diet, monitor your potassium intake and anything that is filtered by the kidney. The reality is you now have one kidney doing the job of two. These are things they dont tell you but I was fortunate to have a social worker who advised me of what I should be conscious of.
This makes me cry… I really have been losing faith in humanity .. and I’m a giving loving person but I myself am not even sure I’d be this selfless….. it’s one thing to think I’d do anything for anyone it’s another to actually do ANYTHING for anyone. Thank you for this video …for sharing that good people still exist…. His wife carried your baby…. He donates his kidney to a stranger? I’m mind boggled by the selfless love…. What amazing friends you have. God bless this man….& His wife… God protect him shine your favor upon him and please watch over the Krock family keep your hand on them and bless them every day as they share their lives and journeys w us ..their testimonies of hardship go far bcuz whatever this family goes through their faith is unshakable and Gods hand is w them… I will be keeping you in my prayers … God just heal him and Renee his body wholly in Jesus name❤
You could have a new RUclips channel called two guys and two kidneys. You all are wonderful and amazing people. I am praying for you, Brian and I continue to pray for Jessica as well. ❤️ Little Elsie is beautiful💕
Hope Jessica is doing well also. Brian, you have always appeared so strong through all of Jessica's health issues.... I hope she is able to help you also.
Wow what a generous couple. The idea of donating a kidney or "lending" a uterus for 9 months shows a great deal of kindness and altruism. Blessings on them both!
Another fellow uni-kidney person here! The body is an amazing thing. When I was 1yo (1983) it was found I was born without an IVC (Inferior Vena Cava). My right kidney was affected. They tried to do an auto transplant (move kidney to hook up to better working arteries), but it was unsuccessful. So they removed it! My left kidney now does the work for both. It’s twice the size now and doing me well! Cheers and well wished for a smooth recovery!
Jeff and his wife....angels on earth. They have given incredible gifts to others and prayers that they have many blessings returned to them. I have kidney disease so find this conversation interesting. I have raised my kidney numbers by being whole food plant based including following a Facebook group Natural Kidney Journey. The protocol includes eating plant based but tweaked to be as healthy as possible for kidneys. The originator has one kidney herself and also helped her husband to get off of dialysis. Good luck to all of you...and prayers for continued health.
That is quite a story since they helped you have your baby which was wonderful and she is beautiful by the way. Now you will both possibly have one kidney. My Son had a liver transplant 6 years ago and how happy we all were but sad for the family that lost their Son to receive the liver. My Son got sepsis and didn’t make it. I have to give Jeff credit for giving his gift of one of his kidneys so someone doesn’t have to be on dialysis anymore which is a hard think to have to do all the time. That is a wonderful thing to do. We hope all goes well with your biopsy and possible surgery Brian.
My BIL didn’t know he was born with only one kidney until he was 80 years old and got kidney cancer. The tumor was not removed but lazer zapped and 3 years later he’s fine. Bryan, hopefully yours can be treated that way but if not I know many people living fine with one kidney and you will be fine too.
Thanks for making this video. I'm almost at the end of the tests to see if I can donate a kidney to my son who has polycystic kidney disease and is currently on dialysis, so it was very interesting to hear Jeff talk about his experience. What an amazing gift he gave, an act of pure altruism which deserves great respect. I know what difference a transplant makes as my husband had one over 20 years ago. Good luck to Brian, hopefully all will go well.
