    So how is this helping our economy

    • @derrick-r3m
      @derrick-r3m 6 дней назад

      The motive is clearly not to help the US economy or the average citizen at all, it never was. Trump understands how tariffs work. He could not care less about US citizens dying from drugs. He gaslit his voter base this entire time by claiming foreign countries pay the tariffs, when literally you could disprove this in 3minutes of reading. With that being said, the important part is to figure out what his actual motive is here. He is also claiming there is nothing the countries can do at this point, so concessions are off the table. We know he doesn't give a shit about domestic manufacturing either, he lobbied for this during his campaign to win over uneducated rural voters who have got hit the hardest over manufacturing job loss. Now we can see things a bit more clearly, it's important to analyze his motives to plan around it. One possible motive is to weaken our neighbors, specifically Canada, to coerce them to join the United States. Him and his team know Canada's economy is unstable, and this could tip them into recession or worse. This is financial terrorism, he is not directly invading Canada and forcing them to join the US. He is going to financial invade them and attempt to get them to join. Personally I think this is the motive. Why slap them with a 25% tariff and China with a 10% tariff? They know these tariffs will cause inflation, so they're trying to limit domestic outrage as much as possible, while crippling Canada's economy and causing instability. He's planted the seed multiple times. While the tariff move will cause outrage at the US by the Canadian population, they might not have a choice but to integrate with the US. There's other schools of thought for these tariffs, such as intentionally trying to crash the US economy in order for his billionaire cabinet and various donors to buy up assets after the economy crashes, or working with foreign countries, etc. Who really knows, but you're an idiot if you think Trump is incorporating these tariffs due to the drug epidemic, that's for sure.

Maybe Canada should start regulating a flat $100 market price a barrel (tariff because we love tariffs… lol) before it crosses the border. Targeted tariffs to protect domestic industries from product-dumping by other countries makes total sense. China in particular has subsidized steel, auto production, and many other products in the past to dump super cheap products on us and other countries to drive domestic production (their competitors) out of business. Where we have NO domestic production to protect (avocados!), or make some boneheaded argument that ties tariffs to stopping illegal drug smuggling… give me one logical reason or set of facts in this. Please, I really want to understand. “Trump knows what he’s doing” doesn’t cut it.

      Think harder !!
      You enjoy Canadian oil and gas at far below market value.
      On everything the US has a trade SURPLUS !!
      Each US citizen buys $1400 Canadian product on avg/year.
      Each Canadian citizen buys over $11,000 /year.
      This is about conquest. Nothing more.
      Canadians will NOT surrender their sovereignty!!!
