After doing some digging myself i can tell you that amongst the academics they are actually in disagreement as to the origins of the Ashkhanazis. There was a point in history where the jewish diaspora hit a bottleneck, and then there was an appearance of jewish group who identified as Ashkhanzis. That being said many jews who have taken DNA tests have shown they only have european DNA.

Yeah, I could see bias in this as has the balls not to mention the name of Israel or Judea duh as in where Jerusalem is located but instead called the territory Cannan which came before so yeah real bias. And, he doesn't really tie up the loose ends well before he started up with what he was all about in the first place which you noticed that he gave his sale pitch for his DNA services while giving his talk, so right there, you know he may or may not be biased, I assume he is and furthermore this was more of an infomercial because it intertwined history with his business which makes you feel duped to watching the vid in the first place...though I will give him some credit because there is a lot of what he says that sounds very much on the mark.

When someone can even spell propaganda I don't really think that they have a reliable idea of what propaganda is. And no this is not disputed. I'm so sick of these morons talking about the "Khazar" theory. Khazarians weren't even white. They're a turkik people. They have nothing to do with ashkanazi jews. So the stupid claim doesn't even make sense. As said in the video, Ashkanazi ancestry only
Has one point five percent Turkik DNA. So Yeah the ashkenazi's Have literally nothing to do with the Khazars. Is other than the fact that A few thousand people converted to Judaism in central Asia in the 7th century. I'm not gonna sit here and defend Israel. That's not what i'm trying to do. Israel is a criminal rogue state. But the truth is the truth. And DNA
Doesn't lie. Ashkenazi, Jews can trace their dna back to ancient Israel. That's just a fact

One critical detail that is left out is that there was a massive genetic bottleneck in the Askenzai DNA history somewhere around 900 AD when a small community of maybe no more than a few thousand Jews settled in the Rhineland of present day Germany. The genetic makeup of those Jews was MORE diverse than their 10 million descendents 1,000 years later. A considerable portion of Ashkenazi Jews are believed to be descendants of just two or three women, which is confirmed by the study of their mitochondrial DNA. It is hypothesized that Ashkenazi Jews are the offspring of men of Semetic origins who lived in southern Europe who married Northern Italian (aka Roman) women and migrated north into Germany where their DNA forked from their Sephardic cousins.

The external appearance (phenotype) of the Ashkenazi reveals how their DNA (genotype) is far away from that of the Semitic people, most notably the Arabs, and even more distant from the ancient Israelites. They want to be what they never were. These european ashkenazi jews, they are not even semites. The original israelites resembled their brothers, the arabs. But what we see nowadays is faraway from this.
Ashkenazi Jews are european racial group, non semitic people, that would like to be arabs, the real descendants of Abraham.
      Here is the truth:
95% or more of all 16 million world wide jewish population are ashkenazi jews, in other words, they are an european racial group whose ancestors converted to judaism in the 8th century AD and over the centuries have been absorbing and recreating all the traditions of the original israelites (described in the Old Testment). They don't have any connection with Middle East, they are a non semitic people and they are not seed of Abraham. This historical fact can be read in the books: "The Invection of the Jewish People" by the author Shlomo Sand and "The 13th Tribe" by author Arthur Koestler, both authors being Jewish themselves.
But the bombshell came through science when the renowned Israeli-American geneticist Eran Elhaik (from the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health, in Baltimore, United States) published in 2013, in the British journal Genome Biology and Evolution, the result of his research regarding the origin of Ashkenazi Jews. The study compared the genomes (which form the genetic heritage) of 1,287 unrelated individuals descended from eight Jewish population groups and 74 from non-Jews. Elhaik analyzed these data, looking for mutations in the DNA code linked to the geographic origin of a group. Among the Jews of Europe, the geneticist found ancestral signatures that clearly point to the Caucasus and a insignificant percentual of 3% that links them with the Eastern Mediterranean. This amount of 3% in the genetic field is completely irrelevant and similar to what modern Europeans as a whole share with Neanderthals.
The team of researchers led by Dr. Eran Elhaik in the University of Sheffield, UK, used an revolucionary admixture based tool for biogeographical analyses called Geographic Population Structure (GPS), which converts DNA data into ancestral coordinates.
According to Eran Elhaik, these results confirmed the historical fact that the ashkenazi jews are originally a European ethnic group belonging to the region of ancient Khazaria, in the Caucasus, region of Central Europe.
Eastern European Jews descended from the Khazars, a mixture of Turkic clans and Slavic, Greek and Iranian population who settled in the Caucasus in the first centuries of our era and converted to Judaism in the eighth century.
The study served to put an end to a debate that had lasted for two centuries proving that all previous researches were fabricated and manipulated to link european people to Middle East semitic people, like the arabs. But the world didn't need any deep genetical research, because to know the truth is just look at their european faces to know that they are not semitic, the same way you look to an european person to say he is not japanese.
Jews are only an ethnic and religious group, not a racial group. Ethnicity is the term used to designate the cultural characteristics that bind a particular group of people or groups regardless of nationality, racial group or color.

It’s important to note that for the sake of brevity, he referred to the Levant as “Canaan” until the Roman conquest. But the area stopped being Canaan after the Bronze Age collapse of major city-states throughout Southwest Asia and North Africa, which took place c. 1200-1150 BCE. The Roman Empire became important in the area much later, c. 64 BCE. In between, the Levant was ruled by a long succession of small, local kings who were often warring with and conquered by rulers of large, foreign empires like the Egyptians, Hittites, Assyrians, Babylonians, and Persians. After the fall of the Roman and its successor Byzantine empires, it was conquered by Arabs, then Europeans, again by Arabs, then by Ottoman Turks, and after WWI, by the British. That’s why virtually all the peoples of the area are of mixed ancestry. The ancient Judaeans, whom he referred to as migrating into Europe after the Roman conquest, were partly dispersed into ancient Assyria, Egypt, Persia, Greece, and Rome previously, as the result of prior wars but also due to expanding trade opportunities. The Jews who survived the Roman onslaught were either exiled or enslaved by the Romans, and sold away from the area. During the ensuing conquests, some converted to Christianity or Islam (usually but not always by force); many who remained in the Levant were killed along with Muslims by the Christian crusaders. This explains why many people who identify as Arab, Druze, Kurdish, etc., often find that they also have Jewish heritage. Although, properly, DNA companies should not be defining “Jewish” as a heritage; rather, they should stick with geolocation-oriented labels. The companies have taken it upon themselves to decide, on the basis of modern “reference populations,” whom they should use as comparison cases. This is highly problematic in many cases, not just in the Jewish case, because today’s methods don’t take migration into account.
Case in point: a study was recently done involving a sample population of French Canadians. When migration routes were taken into consideration, which the most popular DNA companies don’t do, the results of the study were different from what the DNA companies reported. You can Google this and see for yourself. The only companies I’m aware of that don’t do some version of Jewish-labeling are GEDmatch, although it does have an outdated, separate test for Jewish heritage (don’t bother), and which allows you to upload test results from other companies and run ethnicity estimates for free (other functions require a small fee - also, there’s a learning curve, and not all its programs have been updated, including the Jtest), and LivingDNA, a newbie in the field that’s more focused on the UK and Ireland, and whose results seem to be focused on looking farther back in time by at least 500 years than the bigger companies tend to do. I’ve seen comparative testing of Ashkenazi Jewish siblings whose results from Ancestry, MyHeritage, and FamilyTree show them as approximately 75% Ashkenazi and about 25% other European; but GEDmatch and LivingDNA show them as being about 75% other European, and around 25% Southwest Asian, mostly from the Levant, the Arabian peninsula, and the southern Caucasus region (basically Armenia). The reason for the difference is that the latter two tests don’t pretend to have a formula for defining Jewishness based on modern populations; they stick with geolocation. It seems to me that this is a far more accurate way to analyze DNA. Especially as “ethnicity” is socio-cultural, not biological (ask a geneticist). Ethnicity is not “in the blood.” (Disclaimer: I’m a historian and genealogist, unaffiliated with any company or product. My opinion comes strictly from my experience working with clients’ and my own family’s histories, and with my own research and studies.)

The Kohanim (plural of Kohan=Priests) are the highest of the tribes. Next are Levi and then come the Israelites, meaning the rest of the Jews. There are many rules that are associated with being a Kohen, mostly during prayer services and especially on the High Holidays, when , for example, we add the "Priestly Blessings" to the service. That is when all the Leviim--pl of Levis and the Kohanim step outside and the Leviim wash the hands of the Kohanim, then they all come back in and begin blessing us! When they come back in, all the men are under their tallit (prayer shawl). And the kids join them and learn "don't peek"! (It's cute!). The women avert their glance (but don't turn your back as you want to be included in the blessing), and the prayer is responsive. It is a time for us to also ask for special things like good health, etc. It is called DUCHENING. people try not to miss it as, outside of Jerusalem, where they do it daily, we only do it a few times a year. It is very secretive, and if you are not a Kohan, you don't (shouldn't) know what they are doing under their tallit. Remember... Don't peek!! (I am 50 and I STILL don't know what the hell they do under there!).
Kohanim may not marry a woman who is not a virgin, is divorced, or is a convert. They may not be in the presence of dead bodies. They can't go to a graveside funeral, and when they go to one held in the synagogue, it is piped into the lobby via soundsystem (or onto the street), so those who are Kohanim may attend. They cannot fly on a plane transporting a coffin/body, so El Al, the national airline of Israel has certain planes that are always scheduled as OK for Kohanim to travel on. There won't be a coffin put on the flight last minute. (It actually happens a lot, but I digress). There are still Kohanim who are not really religious, don't keep kosher or shabbos, but still follow the other rules (and are still single... shocker!). Not every Kohan/Cohen is always a Kohen (Priest), but they usually are. So, you should look into it! It makes you a King amongst the Jews! 😅 I only mentioned some of the rules about being a Cohen. It is still very significant (there isn't really the concept of "early Judaism"--apart from us waiting for the temple to be rebuilt, we still do everything today as we did 2,000, or 3,000 years ago! Including DUCHENING!!
Oh, for Kohanim, obviously not having the temple at the moment is kind of a bummer. But, if you're a king... when they rebuild it, there will be a bunch of rules. But also, I would assume, perks! Maybe first pick of oceanfront property? A better view? I'm not sure, I'm not a Kohen, and I am a woman. My Mom was born into the Levi line, but all that got her was a special etching on her tombstone (of ritual washing cups)... that only cost ME more money! And she never even saw it, darn! ...😢🙄 LOL!
I hope that was informative for you! And that you are a Kohain! If so, and even if not, as we say: May the temple be speedily rebuilt in our time!

only issue i have with DNA testing (and i've done my own), is how people fall into the common fallacy/pitfall of getting on their high horse about how great their "race" is, or how they have some trait that's deep within their DNA that makes their race, and thus THEM, somehow "better" than others, or more "special" (intelligence, creativity, etc); DNA is more about mapping how cultures migrate and intermarry across time. we're ALL a part of the human race, with effectively very small variances in genotype and phenotype, in general. so let's all keep that in mind, shall we? listen to what a person says and does, what's in their heart, and forget all the other nonsense people get hung up on. after all, that's likely the most enduring trait across millennia that has been heavily selected for and allowed our species to flourish (ie, working together across these supposed "barriers", sharing NEW ideas and technology, "interbreeding" and intermarrying, etc).

I agree. DNA testing can be a highly effective tool for establishing parentage (as in cases of adoption), for solving crimes, and for testing for particular genetic mutations that may cause certain illnesses. The ethnicity estimates play to people’s need to feel like they belong somewhere, in a deep way. Which is why they’re most popular in places like North America and Australia, where the majority populations are the descendants of recent (during the last 300 years or so) immigrants. The DNA companies’ methods are highly questionable, don’t take migration into consideration, and lead people to think that they know “where they came from” or what “their culture is.” When ethnicity is socio-cultural, not biological. Individual traits may be heritable, in some cases; ethnicity is not. And yes, I’ve also seen racism rear its ugly head in Facebook groups and such. Creepy. Meanwhile, DNA companies are raking in fortunes for these tests.

Now, do the Palestinian genealogy. And, for comparison, the Mizrahi genealogy. Personally, I would not go so far as to say that the Ashkenazy do not belong in the Levant. What I do think is that the entire business of creating a Jewish state should’ve been handled in a completely different manner given the fact that a huge percentage of Palestinians descend from Jews that were not deported but remained. They were later islamicized by the invading Arabs but, genetically, they are very Jewish. Arguably, they are genetically more Jewish than the Ashkenazy from a genetic standpoint. They should’ve been assimilated. Great efforts should’ve been expended in proselytization if the objective was to make a majority Jewish state. It’s no different than what the Arabs did during their conquest. This situation that we wound up with today where, essentially, you have an occupying group that claims ancestral dominion over the land and you have a group that’s been there this whole time and is now mistreated and treated as second class citizens is terrible.

The frequency of these conversions was such a significant factor it motivated the Roman elites to ban conversion, since in Rome, religion was unified with the state. Another genius-NOT that doesn't understand scriptures.
Do you really not understand that Revelation 2.9 and 3.9 was written to the *Early Christian churches in Turkey, Asia Minor.*
Known as the *7 Letters to the 7 Churches,* the verses has nothing to do with Jews, especially modern Jews. Jews do not use or go to churches. The word "synogogue" from the Greek, means an "assembly", *not an assembly of Jews!*
If you bothered to read Revelation 2.8 and 3.7, it tells you that these verses were written to the *Churches of Smyrna and Philadelphia.*
*Revelation 1.1* _The revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shrew unto his servants things _*_which must shortly come to pass;_*
So, this passage written 2000 years ago, *_shortly is not the present day._*
*_Revelation 1:4) John to the seven churches which are in Asia_* So,this is addressed to the Christians, not to Jews!
*_Revelation 1:11)_*_ Saying, I am the Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and, What thou seest, write in a book, _*_and send it unto the seven churches which are in Asia,_*_ unto Ephesus, _*_and into Smyrna,_*_ and unto Pergamos, and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, _*_and unto Philadelphia,_*_ and unto Laodicea._
So the synogogue of Satan was the Early Christians who were to become as Jews by acceptance of Christ Jesus, something the real Jews who followed Torah could and would not do!!

Okay, so i read a study on Jewish Gentics titled "Abraham's chldren in the genome era: major jewish dispora poluations comprise distinct genetic clusters with shared middle eastern ancestry". In the study they highlited a few specific Jewish groups: Italian, Sephardim, Syrian, Ashkenazi, Iranian, and Iraqi. All of these groups form a cluster together. However the Iranian and Iraqi Jews (I am calling them the Babylonian group) are the most distant and are most similar to each other and also lack in European ancestry, but possible have admixture from the caucasus. On the flip side, the Italian, Sephardic, Syrain and Ashkenazi group (i am callthing them the Euro-Syrain group) are clustered together in comparison to the Babylonian. The study highlights that this is due to the babylonian exile. The Babylonian group remained in Iran and Iraq until the present. The Euro-Syrain group are the dencendents of those that remained in the southern Levant and of those that returned after the Babylonian exile. Furthemore the study higlights significant southern European, and middle eastern ancestry for all members of the Euro-Syrian group as well as for non-Jews in the Levant. The main contributor to this European admixture in the Levant was Southern European (which i suspect arrived in the region as the roman empire expaned its influence into the eastern mediterianian mixing with the inhabitants of the region. Not exclusively due to the arrival of Jews in the Roman heartland. I made this assumption because both Palestinines and the Syrian Jews as wells as others in the Levant show evidence of "non-semitc mediteranean" ancestory in the region). Furthermore, the study concludes that outside of the Jewish cluster, their closest reltives are Palestinines, Bedouins and Druze. Based off of this study my main critique of thia video is the creator atributing the mesopotamina admixture in Ashkenazim to Abraham's bibilical arrival into the southern Levant. This could be due to general geneflow betwen the regions, the empires centered in Mesopotaimia which have controled the Levant or from the return of Jews after the Babylonian exile. Overall, in terms of relevance to political and social violations people's unalienable rights, ethnostates are very cringe. And in my opinon, defining rights based off of arbitary relations is a dangerous game. Palestinains and Jews are genetically, culturally and lingustically related, both calling the same place home. So instead of letting fear and our own self importance get in the way. We should allow ourselves to see our litteral connection, if not the mere fact of our mutual humanity. This study focused on Jewish ancestry, but i predict that Palestinine ancestry is just as facinating and significat and cannot be ignored. Because i am me and hippie of a Jew of sorts, free the people of Canaan from slaughtering and hating their brothern.
