I think Shu was basically a short-term mini Ruyi narratively. She was one of the few consorts who loved Qianlong (like Ruyi) but he couldn't trust her, treated her badly, and she suffered for it. It was foreshadowing.
My favourite of all was Noble Consort Wan. Hehehehee.. yea, she didn't win the emperor's favour or rise up the ranks but I really wonder how her life went... probably more peaceful? With her small group of servants.. But she must have seen soooo much... she married him before he ascended the throne and outlived him.
Interesting how in both Ruyi's Royal Love in the Palace and the Story of Yanxi Palace, the relationship between Consort Ling and Consort Shu is portrayed negatively. Also, after Consort Shu's death, do you think it was either Consort Rong, Consort Yu, Consort Ying, or a combination of the three who managed the inner court?
Consort Dun initially was in Ruyi's Royal Love. In the drama, she was a maid groomed by Hailan and Consort Rong to take revenge on Consort Ling. However when the show got edited from 100+ episodes to the final 80+ episodes, all of Consort Dun's parts were cut off ☹️
The writer of the TV Drama want Drama and not the true. I have like Consort Shu, too. But it´s strangs that Qianlong don´t see the Woman thier love him really, but like more this ones thier want only the Power from him🤔. Terrible Man! Thank you Bing to give us more information of this Woman.
