This was probably the most memorable patient in the series for me. I remember watching it, and thinking about how brave you must be to be willing to kill and castrate yourself, in order to save a child. He knew his thoughts were wrong, and was willing to do whatever it took to stop himself.
1:22 "you're infringing on my autonomy and inhibiting the free flow of ideas both of which affect my ability to deliver the best patient care" love that
I love how Dr. Andrew's is just awkwardly standing there as Dr. Melendez and 2 residents talk about a pedophile as a patient. When I saw Dr. Andrew's listening in on the other end of the room, I laughed and cringed simultaneously.
George was a good guy, but when he stepped in front of that truck later in the episode I think Morgan finally understood to the full extent what he had been trying to do, in that scene in shows the emotion in her face and scream really well. In this video it's obvious what her starting opinion was, which why a lot of people don't love her in this episode (finished the series and she's still my favorite!)
This episode really makes you think; In this day and age, where even thoughts can be considered punishable, even IF they haven't been acted on, does resisting them make any difference?? Can thoughts/urges like that be forgotten or purged over time in regards to ones like him?? Or are they all really the same; beyond redemption, death row fodder?

Yes. They are still a pedo, regardless of acting upon of those urges. It can be a disease in rare cases, when they have brain tumors. It results in irrational, abnormal changes such of personality, physical impairment, and so on. Not a doctor, but psychology student. I have read cases of changes due to brain tumors and damage. Not medical professional.
Nah idk why she said it like that. A pedophile is just someone with an exclusive attraction to minors. Someone who actually touches a child is a child abuser.

Guess Andrews has three jobs. One of which is a spy.
Liar

No thoughts are never a crime therapy is the way
Neil wasn't the tallest dude in the room but I liked how Claire was shorter than him🤣
These 2 made us feel all kinds of weird🤞

I liked Melendez a little less this episode
Is a pedo a pedo if they do nothing? I've never considered pedophilia as a disease before, but as a crime, probably the worst sexual crime possible
It is only a crime if one were to inappropriately touch a child
