one of their best songs, and so under appreciated. this is a little gem of a masterpiece, perfection.
The lyrics are so wonderful.
Geddy Lee and Billy Corgan are two very talented artists whose voices took me a long time to accept.
"Mello Collie" is an album that should be listened to from start to finish. I think it's their masterpiece. So many different types of songs. The first time I heard the album I knew I was in for an experience when I heard this first track.
This song gives me goosebumps every time I hear it. And I’ve probably heard it 100s of times
You will enjoy to go back and watch the official video for this song. 1979 is another must see official video for
I consider that their most emotional song
I was 5 years old in 1995, had this album on tape cassette. Jimmy Chamberlain is the reason I started playing drums. And Billy wrote some of the most amazing songs and lyrics. I knew this album before Siamese Dream so I'm used to the more raw Pumpkins sound on this record
Disarm is one of the best songs from the pumpkins. It is a must listen
Love this SP rabbit hole you’ve been down. There are So. Many. More. Billy’s voice is just…part of their sound. Instantly recognizable.
This song is beautiful
Loved your reaction - you do it justice. This song brings out pure emotion
Would love you to give Nick Drake another chance as well. River Man, Time has told me, Poor Boy are all a good place to start
As they’re my favorite band, I love your reactions. Keep it up 👍🏻
Have you called out the drummer yet? Jimmy Chamberlain is a beast!
That song will make your face leak.
This band could do WTFE they wanted.
This album is a masterpiece.
Not sure why this doesn’t have way more views. SP are dope af. Do more SP. I’d recommend Hummer from their Siamese Dream album. Great reaction 🙋🏻♀️🙌🏼👍🏼👏🏼💜🇨🇦
Great comparison to Pink Floyd. Pink Floyd was a huge inspiration to Billy Corgan and the Pumpkins. And just like Pink Floyd or Led Zeppelin, the Pumpkins composed albums, not just a collection of songs. Would love to hear you react to their songs, "Mayonnaise" or "Soma"
Sic song
They only had a few songs but the good ones are great
"Hard but soft at the same time" - 100%
That balance of sweet/harsh contrast is this band’s defining characteristic. I wore this cd OUT when I was in high school and college. Hearing those songs now takes me RIGHT back there.
You should check out the song Disarm. Keep them coming, brother. Love.
Subbed buddy
Please. "Rocket" by this band. But in all seriousness, "Meloncollie" is a masterpiece.
Again, I love that they put out such ambitious albums. They have caught some hate for it, but again - there is a time and a place for it. Like a road trip or something. On the other hand, as much as I love their music, there are also times that I don't want to listen to dude's voice. So I'm with you on that. I have to be in the mood for it.
More Pumpkins 🎃 🤯🤯
Mayonnaise is one you will enjoy Chod.
Bill Corgan is the lead singer and writer. His songs are pretty deep. Check out the lyrics for the songs you have listened to, especially the first one.
You should watch the video of Billy playing this song on Howard Stern with just an acoustic guitar. It is a really good performance!
Check out their song An Ode to No One
Use to hate Corgans voice but it's all around about the music and lyrics for me. I think his voice fits what's he's trying to express.
Interestingly enough, their sound and Billy's voice are distinct from album to album. I was always a fan, but less so after the Siamese Dream LP. I noticed the voice didn't grate on you quite as much on Cherub Rock. A somewhat more pleasing style on that album IMHO. You may want to check out Today, Mayonaise or Rocket from that album. ✌
😊👍
You GOTTA do "Disarm"... it will change EVERYTHING you think about this band, in a good way!!!
@reactor2drummer if you are a serious drummer you’ve gotta have some Jimmy Chamberlin in you life. He amazing and the most versatile and multifaceted ‘rock’ band drummer EVER.
Been enjoying your videos friend for a while now 😊 I know you've done some Muse but I would love to see you react to Reapers, Psycho or Resistance..all 3 are bangers with amazing transistions. Keep rocking friend and blessings to you and yours 🤟 Also The Stage and Critical Acclaim with lyrics by Avenged Sevenfold are both worth a reaction as well
His vocals are an acquired taste. But because it's all his songs and all his genius, you go with the flow and eventually come to like if not love it.
Chod, please check out 1979.
Billy Corgan has a very nasally singing voice. It takes getting used to but once you do, you'll appreciate just how great this band was.
Do Jelly Belly by them?
Great reaction 👏
Check out some *Modest mouse*
Eye
If you're a drummer... you want to punch Jimmy in the face for this one. Haha!! He was a heroin junkie when he played this... and I've NEVER been this good on the drums. 🤣🤣🤣
I LOVE/HATE his talent!
Apparently Billy was asked who the best musician in the band was. He sheepishly answered Jimmy, and said he'd never missed a beat in all their time together
