I used to live on Lantau for 2 years then cheung chau for 4 months. Please do a video on the beaches of pui o, cheung sha and the wildlife around lantau. I lived in ham tin kau tseun. Waking up in the morning and watching buffalo is just so chilled out. I likes taking the old 60s buses over the island when they were buiding the new airport which is where I worked. I miss those buses and the bends on the roads over the island with great views. Loving your channel. I need to take a trip back to hk.
4:54 "After an hour here you almost forget the city life ... you're immersed in another world. It almost feels like that, a day in outer island" a good way to descibe the feeling after watching this video :D
Fabulous video Lok. Your photography, explanations and music selection make the best travel vlogs. I also love viewing parts of Hong Kong and China we don't usually see. Keep it up! Thanks.
Great video! Kai made a mistake moving into London :) BTW I once was in HK. While Kowloon was like a hell for me, Cheung Chau became something like a paradise and I spent lots of time there. A truly beautiful island.
Hi Lok! I have been a long time fan. I like this segment of your channel. Im from the Philippines which is very near HK. Been to Tai O the last time we went there to see the pink dolphines. Hoping to visit HK this year and stay on the other island. Thank you for sharing this man. More power!
Thanks for the film. Missed seeing Hong Kong after end of true digital rev. so looking forward to more of these. I,ll never visit HK so depending on you to give me my fix of insights in to such an interesting place.
What beautiful places and what a great video Lok. I absolutely loved this one. Please do lots more like this if you possibly can as you really do have a genuine skill and flair for it.
Lok, after my last comment on travel photography: tsim tsa tsui (where I've been on holiday) I never thought this video could live up to how much I liked the last one! But you did it! 3:36 With the music, so peaceful and the story/background you give really adds familiarity to a place I've never been before. Glad you put in effort to travel the whole day, the 14 minute weideo really is long enough to give a relaxing and simple feeling of life on the outlying islands. Really great quality and so enjoyable to watch, as always keep it up and looking forward to your next adventure :)
Credit go to the musicians too! Check them out if anybody interested in buying their music, links in description! I bought all these music from them, it's important to help out each other!
I can really understand that. I bought an X-Pro2 after watching a video where Lok was testing it and I never looked back. Great camera and great presenter.
If you havnt seen it already, there is a episode of digital Rev which is about the 8 levels of photography. And it was shot in a GTA game play style.there is a scene where Lok is the is the photographer trying to make his client product (toilet paper) look more sexy.. They way he enacts it. Omg. Just perfect.!!! This guy is a gem
I love this vlog. You should consider doing more travel vlogs, a lot of RUclipsrs are very successful at it, basically going to different places, eat street food, introduce the place, covering local culture and lifestyle (actually, they just eat street food lol). But I think you have that talent and passion and your photography and videograohy skills are better than theirs. You should try it, starting with Hong Kong. Maybe start a new channel. God bless.
I agree, personally watching Digrev TV and Lok and Kai, it's always about the location which they capture it so well with their photography and filming. I also wish Lok could make more travel stuff, I think we need to share the videos more to make Lok famous!
Glad to hear ! I upgraded from the original x100, which i loved a lot. I'm really liking the revised rear controls and the tiny focus peak screen in the OVF.
Those houses built above water freak me out. - I mean, if it stands it stands, but it's so much less reassuring in terms of stability (in various aspects) and perhaps the threat of being so out in the ocean as well. - Obviously, there's a charm and romance, for sure, which I love as well. - But to have a permanent residence there... It's a preference, but maybe not so much for me. XD
23 years ago tai o was not a tourist place. It was just a sleepy village where the bus stopped from mui wo. We would get a boat sometimes from there to chep lap kok construction site.
No stabiliser at all except Sony in-body stabiliser and in lens OSS. It would have been absolute stable if there was a stabiliser! It is kind of heavy, I'd love to have a much lighter setup but I'm still too geek about the a7SII; still not too heavy, I'd say it is the max I'd go
Thanks!, I checked out how you carry camera already , very impressed ! Whats more amazing is how you can take street photo while self-vlogging. I mean, its like cameras are just parts of your organ O_O, You are the true camera man. Cheers !
How well do people speak English in places like Tai O? Also, can you do the south of Hong Kong island at some point? I have fond memories of places like Aberdeen, Stanley and the Dragon's Back trail.
Hey tell us about your time in Aberdeen and Stanley, unfortuneatley I didn't visit those places when I had a short holiday to Hong Kong. What are those places like?
We didn't stay long in Aberdeen because it was unbearably hot and we couldn't find much shade but it has a nice port with lots of old boats nestled between the tall buildings. I found Stanley quite enjoyable. It has a nice market, a pretty waterfront with an old house (Murray House) and a pier that has wedding couples have their pictures taken there and we enjoyed a spectacular sunset from up on a hill. It's great for a relaxed day trip to get away from the busy areas.
For stills I mostly use P unless I specially want to achieve something, the X100F is great for this: I usually keep everything on auto, then if I want to take a shallow DOF shot I simply turn the aperture ring to the setting I want, in stead of changing shooting mode. For video I shoot in S mode when I move around, M mode when I know the light won't change
Yes most people even some old people can at least speak some simple English, generally better English with younger generation. Just keep it simple and slow.
Was supposed to go hongkong last year, then there was protest, postponed to this year, more protest and corona. The hotel in hk wont refund me my money too :( $1500

This has got to be one of my favourite videos, Lok! Exploring traditional Hong Kong!
Great series!
love this video a lot!! HK tourism board should work with you to keep people informed and visit this unique places of HK!
This is the best series of ur channel other than reviews! Keep it up, More LOKations please!
4:54 "After an hour here you almost forget the city life ... you're immersed in another world. It almost feels like that, a day in outer island" a good way to descibe the feeling after watching this video :D
Cheung Chau is totally different than the one I visited 10 years ago!!! I must go there when I travel back to Hong Kong!!!
Fabulous video Lok. Your photography, explanations and music selection make the best travel vlogs. I also love viewing parts of Hong Kong and China we don't usually see. Keep it up! Thanks.
Save the Earth, save Cheung Chau.
Great video! Kai made a mistake moving into London :) BTW I once was in HK. While Kowloon was like a hell for me, Cheung Chau became something like a paradise and I spent lots of time there. A truly beautiful island.

i love you colorful photographs!
Great video.... I wish I saw it before I visited Hong Kong......
What beautiful places and what a great video Lok. I absolutely loved this one. Please do lots more like this if you possibly can as you really do have a genuine skill and flair for it.
Lived here (Tuen Mun) for 5 years, still not made it to Tai O. Looks really interesting. Thanks for sharing!

Such a beautiful place. This is the DigitalRev I miss.
素晴らしい!
I love Tai O - it's a great place to get lost in the back streets. Nice video Lok (by the way Tai O is a village on Lantau Island)
Holy heavens that A7 III footage looks good.
Great video and love HK. Never been to the outer islands though. Please do more islands at a later date.
Great stuff as usual lok. 😁🏴
great vid man!
Excellent video series! Are more Hong Kong videos coming up?
Yep, more coming up every month! Make sure you subscribe!
Purchased an X100F after the last video, so pleased with it!
I can really understand that. I bought an X-Pro2 after watching a video where Lok was testing it and I never looked back. Great camera and great presenter.
Yep, it's excellent. Might end up selling my D7100 and getting the X-T20 to run alongside the 100F
Nice wideo Lok!
Good idea!
阿樂,這個特輯可以拍中文班喎!我相信好多香港人(尤其是)後生呢輩都未必太認識。多多支持!
I wouldnt be the one moving my hand around with that nice camera in the hand without strap near the ocean...Be careful Lok! ;)
He's not Kai, though...

Awesome content !!!!! What filters do you use for Cheung Chau , thanks in advance Lok

Enjoyable video!
Had some really good Wanton Noodles in Tai O! Or maybe it just tasted better after hiking from the big Buddha...
At least their shrimp should be fresher than in the city
Lok Cheung Good point, I should have had some! Next time then...
Awesome!
More Lok, Hurrah. How are you enjoying using your X100F ? I recently bought one for a trip to China in a few weeks, and love it so far!
1VSTheWorld Love it ever since the original X100 for the hybrid viewfinder!
Glad to hear ! I upgraded from the original x100, which i loved a lot. I'm really liking the revised rear controls and the tiny focus peak screen in the OVF.

Ahhh, when were you there Lok? What time were you there Lok? I went to Tai O too on 26th April noon!
I released this video on 26/4 haha! I went there early April as I remember
Lok Cheung ah, i see. Haha. So sad. Thought can bump into you. Haha
23 years ago tai o was not a tourist place. It was just a sleepy village where the bus stopped from mui wo. We would get a boat sometimes from there to chep lap kok construction site.

Very nice! Wish I knew this when I was working in HK! (I'll send you a short thing on snapchat tomorrow)
HONG KONG, our home is great!
very nice travel video this is Kai 2,0 BUT why i never seen young people in videos where 20-40 years old live in Hong Kong ?
Did you miss 8:50? There are quite a lot actually!
shing mun reservoir next!
Did you use any stabilizer for video in this trip ? Also, is it heavy to carry the A7 III with 16-35 to self-film the whole trip ?
No stabiliser at all except Sony in-body stabiliser and in lens OSS. It would have been absolute stable if there was a stabiliser! It is kind of heavy, I'd love to have a much lighter setup but I'm still too geek about the a7SII; still not too heavy, I'd say it is the max I'd go

Haha thanks! Well when there's obstacle yet you have to do it, you just somehow have to make it work!
加油!
I remember this place from the movie with Jackie Chan and Johnny Knoxville.
Queue the beat; "Look at that bitch down there." 11:14
I thought Lok was the nicest guy... ;P
How well do people speak English in places like Tai O?
Also, can you do the south of Hong Kong island at some point? I have fond memories of places like Aberdeen, Stanley and the Dragon's Back trail.
The Main Street is actually kinda touristy and there are shops with people able to speak English there, but most of the (older) locals usually don't.
I’d say most people under 50 could speak simple English; old people may say basic numbers, ok, thank you, etc!
Actually my parents are 6x and they can handle everyday English conversations so really depends!

Lok, love your work but where are the tips?
I keep seeing this town and have always been wondering. Do the toilets go straight down to the water in these houses?
Oh yeah
so make sure you don't drop your phone!
Did you buy a Fujifilm X100F? How do you like it so far?
No that one I borrowed from Fujifilm. I like it since the original X100!
do Sai Kung or central
Ilyés László... 😄 magyarok mindenhol😊
❤
Are you still on auto exposure?
Yea
looks good, I need to do that more to!
For stills I mostly use P unless I specially want to achieve something, the X100F is great for this: I usually keep everything on auto, then if I want to take a shallow DOF shot I simply turn the aperture ring to the setting I want, in stead of changing shooting mode. That's like a clown-car... > 7:47

Lok Cheung Awesome, Thanks Lok!
