He was one of the biggest superstars of 2000s . His transformation in evolution from being the stable’s bodyguard to eventually beating the team’s leader at wrestlemania was nothing less than a cinema
It’s been explained in the Ruthless Aggression doc by all parts, even Jindrak. Batista was with Flair and HHH since the beginning, even before Randy Orton who was still doing the “shoulder injury update” skits
I don’t understand why people think that Jindrak was originally going to be in Evolution,They explained it in the RA Documentary,He was there because Batista got hurt with Randy vs the Dudley’s & Batista got hurt while rehabbing so he was out longer then Randy,So they almost went with Mark.
Same as how it is with movies. People hear that an actor auditioned or was briefly considered for a role. Then there’s a rumor for the next 20 years that actor x was “supposed” to play or “almost” played an iconic role which often isn’t true. In this case it was just WWE testing a back up plan .
It’s all in the fine details, details that even escaped someone like myself who endeavors to pay attention to detail. The footage of Jindrak with Evolution comes from a shoot that was conducted for the “Evolution” Titantron video, a video that didn’t debut until the summer of 2003 roughly six months after Evolution debuted with Batista in the group. So that dates Jindrak’s association with the group to post initial formation. Now here are some other tidbits. Around this same time Motörhead was recording “Line In The Sand” to serve as the soundtrack/theme to the aforementioned Evolution Titantron. WWE filmed interviews for Confidential with Triple H, Ric Flair and Randy Orton promoting the theme. No mention of Batista is made in the piece and in fact Flair refers to Evolution as a trio. So the fourth spot in the group at that time was on ice being held for consideration for someone as it was not even being referenced in the summer of 2003. Additionally Batista is being diplomatic towards Jindrak here who essentially dropped the ball when he began taking Orton out to clubs and encouraging Orton’s party lifestyle. Orton at the time was viewed internally as one of a handful of talents that could potentially carry the entire company in the wake of the departure of superstars like Steve Austin and The Rock. WWE was not going to allow Jindrak to derail someone they had big plans for. To draw a literary reference, Orton was Prince Hal, Jindrak was Falstaff.
In the documentary, they did make it seem like Vince was dead set on Mark Jindrak to take Batista's spot to be fair. But Triple H didn't like the idea and made it clear that he wanted Batista. So something is not adding up here.
Wasn't Batista a member of Evolution BEFORE Orton? how would Jindrak be a member of the group before Batista if he only ever showed up after Orton joined?
Exactly. People aren't as familiar or remember the actual Week to week story that happened. It first started with HHH and Flair at Unforgiven 2002. Then Flair started managing both him and Batista separately, then in Early '03 Randy got involved. Batista got injured. Randy, Flair and HHH throughout the Summer of '03. Batista returned to collect the bounty put on Goldberg, they all won the gold at Armageddon 2003. Dominate on Raw throughout 2004 until The Raw after Summerslam when they turned against Randy. Batista won Royal Rumble, turned against HHH and Flair, won WM 21 and ended the feud in Hell in the Cell. HHH went away over the Summer, returned during the Raw homecoming in October 2005 to team with Flair and then attacked him completely and fully ending Evolution from 2002-2005.
What was so funny about them shooting that video with Mark Jindrak was that when they are all walking, you notice Mark was a good distance away from the rest of Evolution. And apparently Triple H made sure it was filmed that way because he knew Jindrak wasn't the guy even before that film shoot. So they ended up cropping Jindrak out of the final cut to where the camera was solely focused on Triple H, Orton and Flair.
Well HHH didn’t like Jindrak b/c he felt like he was immature and and not ready and would get into trouble with Randy cause him and Randy were very close in OVW
I worked with WWE back then driving for Upstaging Inc (hauled pyro and light rigging for RAW) and let me tell you, Vince wanted Jindrak in…only Hunter of all people could’ve gotten him to change his mind, I’m happy to see it worked out well but Dave for sure caught a big break, whether anyone wants to beat around the bush and admit that or not.
Uh what? I like Dave but he’s mixing up his timeline here. Makes it sound like it was always the plan to put him in Evolution from OVW but what about the Deacon Batista stuff?
Thank you, I was thinking exactly the same thing - the way Dave tells it here makes it sound like him being in Evolution was a direct hop from him being in OVW. Unless HHH and/or Flair somehow saw something special in him _really_ early there as Leviathan, which seems implausible given what he notes in another bit of this same interview about how little he got to show his personality or develop in the ring while in that role, then it doesn't add up does it? Surely the seeds of his participation in Evolution are only sown in the immediate aftermath of his Deacon Batista run.
I'm sorta glad that Batista had that spot instead of Jindrak. Because Jindrak was young but even greener than Batista and I believe Batista was a better fit.
Chris is really good at being everyone’s friend and then turning heel by asking ?’s everyone wants to know. Barista sounds butt hurt as if something else happened
Mark Jindrak evolution happened after Batista debut in evolution, they were literally just testing a back up plan just to test some waters because Dave is out caused of injury, Jindrak confirmed it, randy confirmed it, fucking ric flair confirmed it. Jindrak and Randy is too much of an immature twat back then that they would caused too much trouble and headache backstage.
You heard it here first. Evolution ain't a mystery anymore.

Word, if im not mistaken, Batista beat Triple H like 3 or 4 PPVs in a row right? Hunter dont ever put anybody over without getting his win back
The theme is indeed way too cool, never get tired of it.
i have it in my liked songs it’s that good and i don’t even like putting theme songs on anything i normally listen to😅
Dave Bautista were a good fit for evolution As their animal and super over top heel faction
People forget Batista got injured in like 2002 and it was Flair/Triple H/Orton until Batista returned to attack Goldberg
Batista fought Kane in December 2002.
@@GamingSanctum1984 Yeah then he got injured

Dude, he stopped being Deacon Batista before Evolution became a thing
Did he possibly go back down to OVW and come back repackaged as simply Batista?
I think he went back down to OVW before coming back for the evolution run

Why was he so defensive about it lol

probably because people have tried to make it a fact that he wasnt supposed to be in evolution for over 15 years

Triple H pick Batista and took Jindrak's spot because he doesn't fit their faction
so they were going to replace you but then though he sucked and you were better.
HHH used his political power to get his gym Buddy Batista a spot. Mark Jindrak was young and could have used the push

This is one of the biggest RUMORS from the early 2000s..... And it is nothing. Jindrak was nothing more than a body double.....
