Driving in the UK - M6 Motorway in Cumbria - Southbound

I've lost count of how many times I've driven up and down that motorway for over twenty years, and had an interesting discussion (rant) at a speed camera van man, why do they sit on the bridge at the bottom of Shap summit on bright sunny days? It didn't go well.
