"Well known for appearing in many places in the Old World, Kushala Daora is an Elder Dragon that shouldn't be taken lightly by anyone, especially from the fact that it'll sometimes attack settlements. Like many other Elder Dragons, it has been reported living in the New World."
"In the New World, Kushala Daora's main habitat is the highest part of the Elder's Recess, but it has recently been seen in the Ancient Forest due to both Nergigante's and Xeno'jiiva's activities during the latest Elder Crossing."
"Kushala Daora is often called the Steel Dragon from its metallic hide, which is comparable to steel, forming a tough exoskeleton around its body. Kushala Daora's bones are visible since they're so closely integrated with its skin, making it hard to differentiate the two."
"Kushala Daora's wings are particularly hard, making them difficult to break or penetrate. Due to the metallic nature of its body, Kushala Daora can't tolerate areas with extreme heat for very long and doesn't venture to the more volcanic parts of the Elder's Recess."
"As Kushala Daora grows, its hide will rust from oxidation, and it'll eventually need to shed its skin in a cold environment. After shedding, it'll be in a vulnerable "Molted State" (脱皮), causing it to become vigilant and aggressive as its soft skin hardens over time."
"Kushala Daora is most well known for its ability to control and manipulate wind. Specialized organs inside of its body produce the wind that it breathes and cloaks itself in, but not much else is known about said organs. What is known that Kushala Daora's horns control its wind."
"According to hunters, the wind around it dissipates when its horns are broken, greatly weakening Kushala Daora's abilities (Wind barrier, flight, etc.)."
"Since the horns are also metallic, it's theorized that Kushala Daora's horns produce an electromagnetic field that allows it to surround its entire body in a barrier of wind, preventing most creatures from attacking it easily."
"As mentioned previously, Kushala Daora's internal organs allow it to breathe wind out of its mouth at enemies. Hunters describe getting hit by its wind blasts is like taking a blast from cannon head-on."
"The strength of each of its projectiles varies depending on the strength of its wind barrier, so it's a good idea to try to weaken its control over wind as soon as possible. The stronger the barrier, the stronger its wind blasts are."
"Kushala Daora's teeth are small, so it can breathe wind blasts out of its mouth smoothly without anything inhibiting the force and speed of its projectile-based attacks."
"Kushala Daora is also capable of creating tornadoes that'll push back enemies and send arrows/bullets/other projectiles flying back at hunters that try to attack it from a distance."
"In the Elder's Recess, a Kushala Daora's nest (Area 4) can be found and surrounding it is vents that release gusts of wind due to the environment's layout. While in this nest, its control over wind drastically increases, and it can surround itself in multiple twisters."
"Kushala Daora is often followed by intense storms whenever it appears, causing most monsters to flee out of fear of its power. Its presence is enough to influence the very weather, and it can even majorly change the surrounding ecosystem with just its presence alone."
"Despite its appearance, Kushala Daora's entire body is quite heavy due to its hide's metallic nature, preventing storms and other hazards from stopping it in its tracks as it moves."
"Kushala Daora's front and back limbs are muscular, allowing it to move quickly despite its size and weight. Its back limbs, in particular, are longer and thicker than the front ones and its hooked-claws give it the necessary grip in the ground it needs as it charges at foes."
"Besides protecting Kushala Daora from attacks, the wind that it surrounds itself in also helps it to fly while the tail is its center of gravity, balancing it on land and in the air."
"Kushala Daora's body structure and wings are as if layers of metal were stacked onto each other, allowing it to freely stretch out its muscles and flap its wings as it uses its appendages."
"The Kushala Daora encountered in the New World fly less often than the Old World ones, spending most of their time on the ground rather than in the air, but their wind abilities are outstanding."
"It's reasonable to believe that the ones living there are old experienced individuals that can better control their wind abilities. Kushala Daora were reported traveling to the New World during the Elder Crossing about 20 years ago."
"It was recently discovered that Elder Dragons go to the New World to die, but it seems a bit extreme to imagine a large number of Kushala Daora went there to pass on... Rather than going to the New World to die, it's considered likely that they went there for a different reason."
"Living and, breeding, in a different environment are thought to be the likely reason, however, there is a lot of bioenergy in the Elder's Recess, and said energy can help an old Kushala Daora live longer than usual, which could explain why no molted shells have been found."
"Keep in mind that was before the Kushala Daora molt was found in Monster Hunter World: Iceborne."
