I got the rooms audio headphone stand back in the day, when I bought the Fostex TH-900 MKII. It was the only stand that was high enough to provide enough space the the cables not to be angled in a weird way, when touching the ground.
Basically the height of that stand was the defining criteria for buying it. It’s also sturdy and heavy enough to not fall by touching it accidentally.
Good stuff, those little usability details are everything.
Haha thanks man!
Very nice video again. Lots of useful info in a compact presentation.
Good advice. Thanks as always.
Hi Joe! Your reviews are absolutely amazing and I'm thankful I came across your channel. Truly great stuff. I'm curious if you would offer your opinion. I've been on the hunt to find a headset that is high tier in terms of competitiveness for FPS (footsteps in COD/APEX) while also delivering great comfort. Unfortunately I have had to return some pretty pricey headsets so far. Nova pro wireless were faulty and the comfort with the ear pads wasn't great. Turtle beach stealth pro's were literally giving me a headache within a few minutes. Finally i turned to the VZR Model One's and while they are pretty amazing, I'm finding that they are also getting uncomfortable after a couple hours playtime. My previous headset is ROCCAT Elo air's so of course its quite the step up from that. But I'm guessing my head is just used to the clamp force (which is very weak compared to the above headsets.) ALSO might I add, I love your EQ tuning for MW and if you ever get the time, making a video for Apex EQ tuning might be a great video! I've done tons of research and I can't find a solid content creator that has created a universal tune for Apex like you have done with COD. CHEERS!
I have never considered this. Thank you. You continue to make content I want to watch!
great video mate, I keep my headphone (ARYA Organic) flat on my desk and I was curious about the subject.
Been using the lamicall off and on forever for the A40s. It’s been serving me well.
Thank you so much! I really appreciate this video! 💜
Any time!
True public service, great video! Had a stand make a dent in the headband of my Focal Elex, another one damage the pad of my ZMF Verite and another one woudln’t fit my Hifiman Arya. Stands are quite important, but lately I prefer to rest my phones in their case just in case and use a smaller stand for the headset being used during the day for work or gaming.
Sometimes laying them flat is the best way for sure! Thanks so much for the kind words.
As always, great video and great review(s).

Here is another, interesting and maybe slightly awkward question for you.
-
Where do you order your channel branded (black) t-shirts ? 😀
I have Omega shape stands and do use it for the HD600 as well. The reason is that on other only-hang-headband stand, the HD600 remains clampy on my head which is my problem with it, so the stand at least helps to keep it open.
My LG monitor has a hook on the back but it's sharply angled. I used that as a mounting platform for a piece of tube insulation secured with duct tape. Works like a charm as an inconspicuous headphone mount. No 'showcasing' it but it won't ever get in my way or get tipped over. Also it's out of sight for potential burglars.
Thanks for a useful video about things that are rarely mentioned but are used every day. 👍❤️
TY for the awesome suggestions and info…. 😊
I got a hook holder on my desk, it came with it in the box and it works perfectly, mostly just lay my headset on the desk tho when going to bed. Just gotten myself the Nova 7 for PC because i wanted it all black and needed something that would arrive quick after my HS80s battery died. Wanted something with bluetooth and a longer lasting battery, HS80 Max was not available til october tho. Its a good fitting headset but the sound is not as full as my HS80 was, it just had a wider sound profile, atleast it feels like it.
I was one of the ones, that asked for the name of these things and i just love you and your channel, for how detailed and in depth you think about things. That's exactly how i operate, when wanting to buy stuff with the hard earned money.
Just thank you man and stay as you are.
P.s.: the longer your videos the better😂
Only other person I seen with this profile pic shouts out to u bro 🦾
I started putting mine in a soft padded case. The one I'm using goes on the desk, the rest go in a plastic drawer set from Walmart under the desk.
Really useful! 😊
I have an hook headphone stand 3m’d to the underside of my desk. Used it forever. But I recently got the Epos H6Pro and after a day or two I realized the headband on the set would indent where it hangs on the hook. So now I just lay it on my desk cause I wasn’t sure long term how much it would weaken the headband.
You can find the Rooms stand at Thomann Instrument Company
I also just got the he1000se. What stand would you recommend for that where i can also keep the cable plugged into the earcups? I see some people recommend hanging by the metal part and not the headband - not sure if there is anything to that though. Thanks!
I have just watched a couple of "Best headphone stands" videos, and honestly, they made me cringe.
Then I found yours. Yours is the only one I have found that actually considers the headphones and not how fancy the stand is.
Thank you for taking the time to explain everything and the merits, or lack thereof, of each stand. It was really helpful.
Best wishes,
Mary
Awe, thanks Mary! I'm so glad you found it helpful!
Hello, for the astro A40 what type of headset stand would you recommend. Originally I was planning on choosing an omega stand but after your breakdown I'm looking elsewhere. With the A40s I'm concerned about the headband getting worn by most traditional stands.
i just made my own, back in milling school like 5 years ago.
Thanks, I just bought the Hd 6XX, and I almost bought the Omega Stand !
My main is an omega style but I didn’t realize the different widths when buying. The one I have is a bit too narrow for my Sundara, plus I’m not overly happy with the height as I keep my wire plugged in to the headphone, I’m always worried it will ruin the wires due to the (slight) bend caused.
Careful putting a planar magnetic on an Omega stand. You have the chance of creating too much pressure between the driver and wood.
Huge fan of Grumpy Goose stands!
nice can you recommend me a stand for dual headphones set up ? It doesn't need to be anything fancy
Are the omegas good for the sundara's pads?
The Lamical one requires an adhesive, which makes it a lot less flexible.
The shoe inserter is called a shoe horn. lol
But great video. I really needed some advice and what kind of headphone stand to get and this really helped.
haha THANK YOU! I blanked in the video but wanted it to be authentic and just keep running with it. Appreciate the answer lol
Or you can use the word "saddle" to describe the object in question.
@@GadgetryTech you’re welcome and I figured that’s what you did. Haha Keep up the good work though! 💪🏻
Hello brother, I will be grateful if you answer my question, i need a best headset or headphone (wired or wireless)for footsteps and
especially (rainbow six siege) on ps5
What do you suggest??🙏🏼🙏🏼
What stand would you recommend for Mezze Lyrics?
I used my 3D printer and printer one similar to the omega .... price 2$ :D works purfect.
Just one suggestion - depending on your headset headband thickness/material... banana holder.
I bought a thick, extremely sturdy, all-metal one from Amazon for 8 dollars, and not only does it perfectly hold my 500 dollar Bang & Olufsen Beoplay Portal but it does so without scrunching up the headband, being extremely sturdy, and lookin' incredibly expensive.
If you need a headphone stand for an environment with satin/brushed metal details (as is my PC/home office) then there's no better cost-benefit as long as your headband agrees with the hook's dimensions.
The omega shaped rests don't really do your headphones any service as they will compress your pads. It probably doesn't really matter too much but when you're first spending money on something pointless at least make sure it doesn't damage your headphones in any way I guess.
i could listen to this man talk for hours
Will the desk clip-on stand from Best Buy be bad for the Steelseries Nova adjustable headband, or would you have to hang it from the fixed plastic part?
never use a headphone stand that rests on the suspension band. Always hang it by the rigid headband.
Quick question, I am looking to get a headset for gaming with a 200$ budget and the microphone quality is pretty important. Is the only pick the razer blackshark v2 pro 2023 the best option?
I’d check cnet. I think steel series makes good stuff for that
Hey man are you under embargo or something? whats taking so long on the A-Rise Review?
Who makes the astronaut pixel art in the back?
That's a great video, always loved the first stand, but now i see it's actually kinda bad lol. Gonna check the rest now 🎉
Lol yeah. Huge love/hate relationship with it. I've been tempted to just mod it myself but tiiiiime
@@GadgetryTechthe shoe fitter was hilarious 😂 but i get you, I mean, optical wise it's absolutely awesome. But rn i check for alot of stuff.. But can't really decide, or quality is just bad. Tough times haha ^^ I look for overear headphones for my S23U for music. But there's so much you could go for🥲.
Never even thought about this till now. I just use a cheap 8 dollar stand that you showed lol
It's like speed running pad wear lol. I never liked those omega styles because it was obvious (to my ocd at least) that they would damage your pads. Great video, very helpful.
Thanks so much! Glad it was helpful.
I bought that cheap one years ago and once I got it I thought it was a hell of a deal.. now I just need to put my headphones on it when I'm done, thats the real challenge here. Lol..
Or just go with Z's stuff, a yoga block. Yoga blocks are good as long as your headphone can swivel in up and down, which most are. And they definitely are always wide enough to accommodate basically anything you have. Not to mention they're cheap and comes with basically any color you want. I've been storing my headphones in a few yoga blocks, and they held up just fine in the last 2 years along with my pads. So yeah, yoga blocks people, don't sleep on it, both figuratively and literally I guess, ask me how I know.
That's the first of I've heard of this trick. Thanks for sharing. Something to look into for sure!
I just use hard cases. Keeps my headphones safe, covered and dust free.
is there any iems stands ? never know where to put them
Cool thing to recommend is a jewelery box actually. Holds my IEMs in each solot and extra slots can be used for spare cables or adapters :) also if they have drawers you can throw in things like dongles or cases or ear tips or something
you are awesome :)
Shoehorn
you use a lot of omega stands, we see them in many of your videos, so it's surprising to hear you're not actually recommending them 🤔
It's for quick displays - but you'll notice I don't ever have Sennheiser pads on them. Just depends on what your headphone or headset is, and the pad's wear characteristics.
@@GadgetryTech I never understood those stands for the pad wear situation you mentioned, glad you mentioned it.
@@GadgetryTech thanks, maybe add a disclaimer in your other videos not to blindly emulate your setup without watching this video first?
@@Medsas yeah after I got enough messages recently this was the fastest thing I could get out. I’ll slowly start mentioning it in descriptions to help too
put your headset/headphones in a drawer so they don't collect dust
I personally use my Xbox series s 😅
Shoe horn! That's what it's called.... Why do I know that??
Shoe horn, lol
