Hello, I have changed timimng belt in my Peuteut 307. but now the service light is on. when the car drives four or five kilo meters, the engine becomes too much hot and red and the acceleration goes automatically up and down. and sometimes the car turns off while driving as well. can u advice me please?
Hi! Head gasket has gone on my C4 1.4 - exactly the same engine as yours. Can you please tell me what special sockets I need, to remove the cylinder head bolts, and if I need any other unusual sockets?
Hi get yourself a set of female torx sockets that will take care of the cylinder head bolts.Other then that its just normal sockets and hand tools. You will need a couple of timing pins for the camshaft pullys too or the relevent size drill bits.
How do you determine the timing for this engine? i also saw you removed the camshaft sprockets and they had notches in the camshaft nose are these used when setting timing?
The camshaft pullys both have holes which locking pins go through and then lock into the head. The crankshaft locking tool hole is under the oil filter housing thru tje block into the flywheel hope this helps
is it necessary to lock the crankshaft? or can you get away with just marking the crank and the engine block with tippex in a straight line since the cams are easier to lock than the crank (access-wise) thank you for your information aswell :] really like the video.
Thanks for that mate - I've just ordered myself a set of torx sockets! I'm flying blind here, as I'm not a mechanic, but thought I'd have a go, as it's not worth taking to a garage - it would cost more than the car is worth. The car has always been great for over 8 years, so I can't complain! It will be good experience for me, but I think I'd better get hold of a workshop manual!
I would get a workshop manual for reference and pictures and also a set of male torx sockets too.As head gaskets go they are not the hardest ones to do
JayJayJaroo Hi again! Did a bit more home mechanics today - loosened exhaust manifold and all the bolts around the camshaft carriers. Can't remove engine mounting until I get the torx sockets. The two camshaft pulleys - do I just undo the centre nuts? The rear one looks a it more complicated than the front one! Are the timing pins for making sure the pulleys are in the correct place on re-assembly? Does the inlet manifold have to come off before I can remove the head, or does it come off with the head?
Hi! My car has the same problem. My question is..will the same problem occur again? In how much time? Thanks
what spark plugs does it want from the factory? I just bought one used and I dont know what brand to put in it
Hi.
How did you clean the water tank from the oil residue????
Same block as the 8v ones I think?
Where can I find the timing marks and torque settings for the head bolts etc?

Timing out
How did you split the 2 halves of the rocker boxes, to get the cam shafts out? The gasket on my one seems to be VERY stuck!
How much cost you all together for changed head gasket in this engine.

hi, can anyone point out the position of the camshaft position sensor on this engine.
Thanks
How much did all the parts cost (average)? Going to attempt this myself.
Parts should be around the £150 mark
Is it expensive to have head gasket replaced along with timing belt?
Depends on who you have fix it try an independent over a main dealer.Somewhere between £400-£600 i would think

JayJayJaroo excellent, thank you
Im not sure if you would ever may a fully comprehensive video of you replacing a timing belt on this car would you?
Help me 307 no start please bro
How much should this process cost if done by a garage?
Depends on who you use but between 500-600 at a guess

Hi, did you have to use a thicker than stock head gasket to compensate for head being skimmed? Cheers
Tommy Hunter No standard gasket

@@JayJayJaroo did you also replace the camshaft sealings ? are they identical or different?
@@550Spyderman did you manage to do the job? Was The gasket damaged?
What process did you use to clean the block and head?
The head had a skim and the block cleaned with emry cloth and wd40
Hi Jay, How much did you get the head skimmed by? And what CR did that give you?
5 thousand of an inch i was told by the skimmer
@@JayJayJaroo Is it necessary to remove valves when you send head to skimming ???
No you can keep them in
@@JayJayJaroo Thank you very much
When refitting the VVT inlet pulley should it be done in a certain way or just bolted back on.
