  • Having a good time in Cooke City Montana with friends, and bunch of new guys. it was a bit difficult having to drag them with us where we use to going plus hard snow made it difficult to sidehill but overall always a pleasure riding.

So, I was about to buy a 2018 Freeride, but then found a 2017 King Cat with only 290km on it, looks brand new.
Tried reading an watching RUclips. But I see ppl having fun with the KC, and the Sidewinder, but all over the net and when I ask on forums I see people saying they are too heavy, impossible to do anything but hillclimb, get stuck and can't get unstuck. Buy two-stroke etc. Yet, most obmv them never rode the KC.
So, honestly, how much harder is it? Do I need to be 100kg to side hill it? Do you really notice the weight difference to such a degree I should go with the freeride?
And, is 180 horses to little, do I need the 270 tune?

So I would say it depends on your riding style. It you like riding trees, doing tricks, and flips I would say stick to 2stroke.
We ride for fun. I was out with people in deep snow and I would say I was stuck the least out of everyone. The more powerful king cat was doing much better in deep snow, it's somehow able to get more speed compared to 2 stroke. I don't get stuck very often compared to my group.
I do feel the extra weight but the power makes up for it. I think a 153 would be little more playful than 162 but you could also throw big wheel kit in the back and make it shorter.

The power is more than enough for me. I'm 200 pound.
I have exhaust from bikeman performance lightweight mountain can. So that ads power they say it should be around 200.

I like my king cat but I do want to try a 2stroke because I want to do big jumps. I've been doing it with king cat but I feel like I can fly further and land softer with less weight, but I don't know yet.
On a scrap metal scale. Rmk weight in at 480 and 2014 m9000 at 600 but the king cat lost another 40pounds from m9000.
Light weight exhaust and I have 2.6pound battery in it.
