This got me, This guy donated 96,000 to the hillsborough families fight for justice from his payoff as LFC manager. Forever have respect and love for this man ❤️
I didnt know that about his donation... . Im not a liver fan, but that is quality .. . Theres something in between them 4 stands, that changes a humans' outlook on what football, football fans and the respect can do for the game. Benitez .... pure gent
He also donates money every year to the Hillsborough course plus Alder Hey Hospice! Many more charities. He once sent a load of disabled kids to Disneyland!
I am a united fan but first, I am a football fan and hillsborough transcends any rivalry. What a terrible tragedy, both the incident and the injustice the victims families had to endure and still do. everytime i reflect upon it, it unsettles me highly. the tragedy has only made one of englands greatest clubs stronger. Lest we forget JUSTICE FOR THE 96 Youll never walk alone
+Daniel Lee I think sadly theres ignorant and insensitive "fans" both for united and liverpool who forget there are more important things in life like life itself rather than football, and human tragedies such as munich and hillsborough deserve nothing but respect and rememberance. at least Munich was an unfortunate and tragic accident, but hillsborough... dont even get me started, that was all the south 0yorkshire police's fault pure incompetence that unjustly killed so many, injured a lot more and scarred a whole fanbase emotionally forever. What is even more angering, is how unfairly the bodies of the deceased were treated, testing kids and elders for alcohol consumption trying to inject lies of hooliganism to the public when it was ALL THEIR FAULT. It upsets me so MUCH and im not even british. so tragic
Your not even scouse the atmosphere in the stadium with this little speech is what it's like on match day rubbish fans support your local team full of glory hunters in these comments
Rafa is a true gentleman, even after he left us, he continued to support the club and the local area. He has done a huge amount for the Hillsborough memorial by raising awareness and donating lots of money. He may have made a few managerial mistakes towards the end of his Liverpool career, but the passion and love he has for the club is amazing. YNWA Rafa!
Liverpool fans absolutely adored him, there was something about him and the Liverpool fans took to him really early on I still believe to this day if we had the budget like United or Chelsea we would’ve won the league under him
Here boss mate. He still has family who lives on Merseyside because of how much they love it. He will always have a true connection with the city and LFC.
this why I love rafa. He isn't even an Englishman or a local, but he loved the city and its people. You can see how much he cares about Liverpool in this video. You don't need to be a scouser or even English to be touched by the efforts of the Hillsbourough familys' fight for justice. Rafa is a legend and a true red!
I come back to this clip with our Margaret and Rafa, not because I'm morbid and keep reminding myself of the horror of that tragic day and the subsequent injustice heaped on the families...its to remind me what Liverpool fc is to its armies of fans at L4 and around the world. And see what it means to a Spainiard to be thought of as 'family. Walk on.
THIS IS LIVERPOOL. Once you fall in Love with this Great Club YNWA. What a Great Man & a Great Coach. This is how the Liverpool Fans treat their former Coaches & Great past & present players. For the 24 dislikes on this site SHAME ON YOU. Go the Mighty REDS
The respect I have for Rafa will never be forgotten. Some of my greatest days growing up watching Liverpool at Anfield was because of him. The love he has for our club and still has will always warrant him a scouser. YNWA Rafa
Jeez, this clip ALWAYS brings tears to my eyes - all six foot three, sixteen stone of me. A good man is Raffa, always close to our hearts. YNWA one and all !
Those Everton fans that have been threatening Rafa in order for him not to take the Evertone job don't have a clue about football. The Hillsbrough disaster affected both Liverpool fans and Everton fans alike, they both lost family and friends and that disaster unites the 2 clubs, it goes beyond football. Rafa Benitez has done a lot to help the Hillsbrough families/campaign... therefore the man deserves respect from Everton fans just as much as he does Liverpool fans. He's a man of integrity and he will do all he can to bring success to Everton, he loves Merseyside his family have lived there ever since he was Liverpool Manager. Give the man some respect and get behind him! :)
Totally hindsight is a great thing. I really feel for Rafa. I think he went in thinking he'd genuinely try and do his best for Everton. But they were never going to accept him unfortunately. Proper scousers will always know what love he has for the city of liverpool. The fact he's settled here. Everton are a rotten club living in our shadow.
Rafa deserves the key to the city, him and his family are adopted scousers and they'll always be part of our family, forever welcome at the best city in the world, Liverpool!!!!!!
Im a Glasgow Rangers fan, never been a fan of Liverpool but I have a massive respect for the club, the fans and Rafa Benitez for remembering the guys who never made it home after a football game, as a Rangers fan, We've been through it and were always thinking of you in your time of need. JFT96
Absolutely amazing manager and I'm over the moon he's Newcastle manager, even though no one can deny he'll always have a love for Liverpool and there fans. You should see him in the dug out as Chelsea manager against Liverpool, he started crying when they sang YNWA, he's a proper passionate manager. Let's hope Newcastle fans can steal his heart just as Liverpool fans did, and I'm sure they will if he's around long enough because there's nothing fake about Newcastle fans, and that's exactly the same for Liverpool fans, two amazing set of supporters.
The respect Rafa Benitez has for Liverpool is sorely lacking in the world of football today. For that, we salute you Rafa, for returning you've done for our club.YNWA :)
Respect to you sir, Rafa had LFC in his heart & soul, he wasn't a local fella, or even English, he just loved the city & its people, him & his wife do a lot for local charities, his wife refuses to leave to the area even though he's now in Italy. I hope Arsenal win the prem if we can't, you do things the right way by bringing players through the ranks, unlike the cheque book Charlie, mourinho
Rafa did all he could in the best interest of LFC. When he comes back to LFC, he'll have my 100% support just like he had last time. Thank you Rafa. YNWA.
Es un orgullo que un entrenador español como Rafa...sea tan reconocido y apreciado en una catedral del futbol como Anfield, y en Inglaterra en general. Lastima que en España no lo apreciemos tanto. Ojala que vuelva a triunfar.
