In this choreography they show how the WTF taekwondo must be used. The offensive spirit is everything in this taekwondo style, not the counterattack. I think that, if the WTF taekwondo could allow low kicks, interception defense (as seen in Jeet Kune Do) and sweeps, it would be a really respectable martial art training, not just for point sparring.

All of you Bruce Lee fans are aware that probably 80% or more of the martial arts moves that made him famous were straight Tae Kwon Do right? He was taught be Joon Rhee. Rhee commented that after practicing them for a few months Bruce was better than Rhee who had been doing them for many years.
yes techinacally it does but its never used in the wtf fighting style a tae kwon do athlete is more likely to do almost exactly what these guys did. all these things you mention are used in habon kirugi where they are practiced against pre-set scenarios and telegraphed punches-deeming them useless. these techniques have been erased from practical part of this martial art since hwa-rang-do turned into tae-kwon-do. Based on what little I know of this series (only seen a few episodes) I think this actually took place before Lee worked with Jhoon Rhee to develop his kicking technique. So this may represent one of the first times he faced 1960's TKD and was still adapting his tactics.
No, because it was against Bruce Lee, but against common streetfighters, 3 TKD kicks would do. Dude destroyed a chair there, TKD are trained for fast and powerful kicks. I think that, if the WTF taekwondo could allow low kicks, interception defense (as seen in Jeet Kune Do) and sweeps, it would be a really respectable martial art training, not just for point sparring.

yes techinacally it does but its never used in the wtf fighting style a tae kwon do athlete is more likely to do almost exactly what these guys did. all these things you mention are used in habon kirugi where they are practiced against pre-set scenarios and telegraphed punches-deeming them useless. these techniques have been erased from practical part of this martial art since hwa-rang-do turned into tae-kwon-do. (en sintomia eisai ligo malakas)

The fight scenes suck. Keeps switching angles you can't really feel the flow of the fight.
Bruce would have gotten in close and punched them in the face the first kick attempt...ESPECIALLY if it was a spinning kick

I haven't seen the show, so I'm not sure what part of Bruce's life is being portrayed here, (not that I'm very studied about his life in general) but I think that depending on the part of his MA exploration, he might not have come to that conclusion yet; or he's starting to piece it all together.
Based on what little I know of this series (only seen a few episodes) I think this actually took place before Lee worked with Jhoon Rhee to develop his kicking technique. So this may represent one of the first times he faced 1960's TKD and was still adapting his tactics.

No, because it was against Bruce Lee, but against common streetfighters, 3 TKD kicks would do. Dude destroyed a chair there, TKD are trained for fast and powerful kicks. What would be impractical is to lighten the power hit just to display an array of thousand kick techniques. I speak as both practitioner of TKD and JKD.
