He has a great, fun vibe; but you can tell he takes his work seriously. Lightly dusting fresh grated wasabi off into that bowl of noodles and then seeing it made my mouth water. His dishes look simple, but there's an elegance to them. Just amazing.
Some of the Sushi chefs I see in youtube videos intimidate me, they seem so stoic, so traditional and refined to the point of being just a tad scary- but this fellow gives off such a friendly warmth! I would not be too intimidated or scared to eat at this chef's restaurant, he seems like such a kind person and yet also very professional.
Yeah, he's actually good for the hospitality industry. Like if he were a bartender, you'd definitely be more likely to be a regular in that bar. If he ran an izakaya, where he was cooking and talking to customers, he'd have a long line of regulars.
Yoya is like one of the coolest dudes! His friendly and joking personality remind me a LOT of Miyavi. Like they could be cut from the same stone. I think they're both so cool.
He's more modern now the way he talked and the way he communicate he's relax and have humour too I liked the way he prepare all the fish for his sushi restaurant it's all delicious .
I stayed a week in Kyoto and then a week in Osaka. Let me tell you that regardless of how close together they are, they are waaaay different. He's entirely not lying. Lmao. Osaka is crazy by comparison.
He's awesome! Also I don't know why he spoke in Japanese so much because his English is actually very good albeit hard to understand without the subtitles just due to his accent. Cool dude for sure and his food looks delicious.
The Tsumoto method is a technique that is starting to become the standard in Japan, starting with RUclips, and it greatly improves the taste of fresh fish. Immediately after the fish is brought ashore, the guts and blood, which are prone to decomposition and oxidation, must be removed as soon as possible. By completely draining the blood from the fish, the flavorful ingredients remain in the fish's muscles, which greatly improves the taste of the fish for sushi.
I still think he could make it as an actor. He has a great on camera presence. I say he could start as a gang leader for Yakuza in a John wick like film.
Japanese language is useful, and a relatively easy language to pick up the basics, I would suggest to learn the basics of Japanese to visit Japan during ur lifetime at least once, Japan is a beautiful, safe, clean, orderly and welcoming place for all visitors..
I love listening to him.
I love watching him preparing his unique dishes.
As he grows older, his personally and stories are forever memorable.

I think that's grated yuzu rind. Wasabi would look very wet and mushy by comparison.
“They say Kyoto is traditional ...
But look at me”
LMFAO 😂😂😂 you’re a effing star mate

Everytime I see sushi chefs introducing the fish, I'm always like do I need a phD in marine biology to become a sushi chef?😂
He Zhang
Probably.
I mean don't they also deal with poisonous fish and different recipes also so maybe you do need to know your fish first
He resembles Gorobei in Seven Samurai classic film haha.
A bit goofy too and good vibes.
Naisu vid!
This guy is in 9/10 sushi videos I've seen
DAMNNNN finally the world coolest suchi master!!!!

Me: Mom, can we learn the Macarena dance ?
Mom: No, we already have the Macarena at home.
The Macarena at home: 6:52
Cola and beer joke got me xD
Rare to see an older Japanese guy with so many tattoos! They're still really frowned upon by a lot of people over here

i like this guy. the title of this video does him a disservice. he's the only human out of the entire omakase series so far.
