yes its a big pity, because Darren spoke Afrikaans which is a dialect of Dutch--Holland and so many Afrikaans words also come from the German language,,in 1700 thousands of Hollanders moved to South Africa and until around 1900 many South African white people still spoke Dutch,

Well, this is how people in Amsterdam speak nowadays, unfortunately. The original Amsterdammers are leaving town. We have a lot of dialects and accents in the Netherlands. For instance I am from the southern part (Brabant) and I don't even speak remotely the same as that guy.
Also he does really sound like a former Dutch politician, who was unfortunately murdered called: Pim Fortuyn

Bro our Afrikaans sounds weird to the Dutch people too😂 although we can understand each other most of the time, we've got many differences in pronunciations, cadence, nuances etc.
Also, accents and slang make things harder as well.

I am south african and can speak decent Afrikaans, I moved to the Netherlands and adjusting my ear to the dutch twang was a difficult thing to do, Afrikaans is a heavy sounding language compared to dutch. It's Almost like UK English vs American English.
