    Hello thanks for posting this. I've follow step by step but in the beginning, when applying the radial blur, It gets applied but still looks rough. Looks more like a sand pattern instead of the smooth metal effect you've achieved. Went through this multiple times and followed to the T. Could it a limitation of my Mac's graphic processor?

    • @NewLayer
      @NewLayer  4 года назад

      No, it sounds like you may be applying the radial blur to the wrong layer? It's hard to say without seeing it in person.

    Brilliant tutorial. I don't supposed you have done a tutorial how to create a nice shine effect on dull/flat knife blade?

    All is good until I get the layer style/blending options and turn down the opacity to 20, then it looks like a transparent layer. I also do not have the option in this layer style box for changing the pixel size. I have Photoshop CS4 so what do I do? Thanks!

    What if I want to separate the texture from the gradient and export each one separately? I would like to do that because I want to take it to After Effects and have it be a round surface and spin, which means the texture would stay fixed and the reflection overlay would stay in its place.

    I love this tutorial it's fast to do. But anyone know how can I do the same effect but horizontal ? I have curisosity

  • @farhandevliwala
    @farhandevliwala 2 года назад +1

    Great video...but there is an easier way of making this same effect...
    Step 1..Simply apply a radial gradient of your choice
    Step 2..open gradient editor panel
    Step 3..change gradient type from solid to noise...and you are done....

      Thanks for sharing. This is a repost from a very old tutorial, so it's good to hear it's even easier now.

    for some reason, im inputting the exact same perameters on the inner shadow blending mode feature, but for some reason, the edges of my image are coming out LIGHTER than the center, where in this video the innner edges are darker...... any help?

    • @NewLayer
      @NewLayer  5 лет назад +1

      The things I can think of are that the color is not the same, the blend mode is not the same, or the source is set to Center instead of Edge. I hope that helps :)

    You dont specify in yours tutorials the resolutions of your bkground
    Great tutorials

    • @NewLayer
      @NewLayer  10 лет назад +2

      It's 1,280 x 720, which is mentioned at :28.

    • @skychulla7600
      @skychulla7600 10 лет назад

      resolution not size

    • @NewLayer
      @NewLayer  10 лет назад +2

      DPI resolution is irrelevant. 1,280 x 720 at 72DPI is exactly the same at 1,200 x 720 at 300DPI. Changing the DPI will only change the print size, not the pixel resolution.
