    Tay has done his share of roll cages in the past, but it's never been this easy. Our neighbor Conner from Grove's Automotive ordered an 8 point roll cage for his BMW E90 from cagekits.org
    Cage Kits is an awesome company run by Rob Parsons (aka ChairSlayer) who has been featured many times on ‪@TheHoonigans‬ and was in an awesome series called "Unprofessionals". Every cage is made after 3D scanning the interior of the car to make sure the dimensions are perfectly accurate.
    We were so shocked with how much easier it was to install one of these cages, we would wholeheartedly recommend looking to CageKits if you're looking to put a roll cage into your drift / race car.

    I just watched your video on building a welding table. As my company's current CNC plasma operator, when I cut big shit, I'll set my zero point and tell the machine to jump to the farthest points from there to make sure I stay on my sheet. Generally, it saves me several minutes of fighting the metal to line it up. Also, on jobs that take a lot of time, I'll let the machine run the whole program and PRAY TO GOD the computer and the Voltage Height Control talk and respond fast enough. (I've had plenty of expensive disasters where they couldn't though...)

    I've done several roll cages I thought your rocker box trick what is a pretty good idea. Punching a hole through the floor going to work also. I find it more convenient and better Weld positioning by removing the top. You can stand up easy access welding a top back on is no big deal. Just food for thought😎

    Great to see a company who makes a product with such fitment and simple ‘retard’ marks to help make the end user/ installer have a smooth experience. 👍 great video lift arc

    Tip for drilling and not wanting to punch through something else. Grab an appropriate length socket and set your drill bit to depth and hold socket over as a stop for when you punch through. Not my idea but can’t remember where I saw it. Maybe Dirt Lifestyle.

    Nope... As nice as the cage kit is my Back, Ribs, Knees, and Shins are hurting just watching this install. Lol there aren't enough moving blankets in the western hemisphere 😂 You're a better man than I am. Nice job.

    21:42 - does the backside of that joint get another piece of tube over it later? Might just be camera lens distortion but looks like a big gap to fill!

    2 ways to go with that sound deadner either heat it up with a torch or a high quality heat gun or freeze it with some dry ice. The hot part is much more convenient but really messy.

    For easy removal of the sound deadening. Heat the metal its attached to from the back, it just peels off.

    what's up with the big gap at the joint to the halo at about 21:40?

    • @JasonJJasonJ
      @JasonJJasonJ 10 месяцев назад +1

      Two more intersecting Rear down struts and cross members cover that gap. There's an oval pattern scratched onto the main hoop at 21:43 showing where will they fit-up to. Pause it at 30:31 - 30:33 to see them after they were installed.

    You really need to stop welding on the screen. My eyes always take 60 minutes to recover from all of the UV coming through the screen. Definently a saftey issue.
