    I might get this vac but I think Festool should have made it battery and 120v because I have the ETSC 125 sander and I love that I can use either with an adapter. The run time for a longer sanding job would require at least another pair of batteries. Having the option to also plug it in would make a lot of sense.
    But for the occasions you need to use your track saw in the middle of a field, I mean, you really can't beat this! ;)

      @fultonfinewoodworks  Год назад

      It is ideal for when you are working in a field without a doubt! ha ha! I came up with that concept because that's the way I feel when I am working on site and there aren't any available working outlets!
      Dual power would be a great feature! I have the plug version of this vac and it for sure will still be used at times! I think the current intention (for heavy use) to have additional batteries with the dual fast charger so whenever the batteries get low a fresh pair are ready and charged.

      Once you stop drooling, you realize the options where this is useful are very small. pointless with the power sanders or domino, too small for cordless track saw where at least the bluetooth is handly but then such a setup will fill the bag quickly, too expensive for quick cleanups, ... its a Festool junkies tool. I love that it has bluetooth where as the corded version does not and I hate that cause I had to buy a amazon remote plug which bulks it up. I could not justify purchasing this. I have a milwaukee cordless vac for $129 which would work just as well.

      @AaronGeller Год назад

      @@debandmike3380 I would buy this refurbished. I think for a track saw, it’ll be sufficient. Depending on the application, this could work with a sander as well. It’s probably best when you need a light and portable solution which the midi does not always provide.

    this is for quick cuts, cleanups etc. in odd places, if you plan to set up a sander for an hour this is not the tool. Even my midi gets cumbersome to drag up the stairs for a quick few cuts, so this is perfect. I have the corded, and leave it in the workshop since it had no connectivity to cordless tools - no BT connectivity, so I had tp buy crappy remote power adapters to stick at the end of the hose. they lasted a year before dying. so having that standard reliable BT in this version is great.

    The battery life isn’t enough. I have the makita xgt and I have 98cfm, and 97 inch’s lift but the kicker is I have 40minutes on max and 2 hours on low. It’s the easy choice since it’s way cheaper

    • @fultonfinewoodworks
      @fultonfinewoodworks  Год назад +1

      Which XGT vac are you comparing it to? It appears they have a bunch of different models.

      @@fultonfinewoodworks VC004GLZ02. The are two main sizes with the exact same motor (2 gallon and 4 gallon) Xgt is the 40 volt platform, I just wanted to be clear about which one I’m talking about, it’s the only motor on the 40 volt platform. I just got the specs of the website (different than specs in the manual) 95 cfm and 92 inches of lift. It accommodates up to 16 amp hours of 40 volt batteries, or 32 amp hours in 18 volt if it was considered in18 volt discharge. I get a lot of run time from mine

      Festool will never win in price against Makita, but Makita tools won't BT sync with Festool battery tools either.

      Love the features and functionality on the festool but the battery life was a total disgrace. I realize most very small vacuuming tasks I was able to do in 10 minutes but then it’s back to the chargers to charge 2 more 4.0 batteries. Also it’s shocking they diddnt change the hose garage as it’s virtually impossible to keep the hose on there without it coming out of there. Overall the tool required the 30 day return as it’s just not good enough for festool, it has build quality and functionality but it really has a poor design and lacks practicality. It’s a product the actually lowered my opinion of festool as a brand and should never have been released imo

    10 to 20 minutes use? What a waste of money, so useless! And they got rid of the corded for this junk?

    • @fultonfinewoodworks
      @fultonfinewoodworks  Год назад +1

      They didn't get rid of the corded, just another option for how people work. For job cleanups and small jobs it's worked out great. That's 10 to 20 min when used continuous, depending on the job that amount of use could last much longer than that. Corded is still an option though!

    • @coolstevens

      @@fultonfinewoodworks Corded is discontinued man-where can I buy one in Summer 2023? Post a link...this (cordless) tool is such a bad idea...just switching batteries every 20 min adds up to $$$ out of your wallet day after day when you consider time changing them out alone...also, do the batteries charge in 20 min? It's not like they're throwing them in...how many batteries do you need to keep going for 8+ hours without an outlet? Your jobsite needs to have a plug to charge anyway unless you have a systainer packed full with 48 charged batteries (for your vac alone, not to mention all the other cordless you have bought into--and do you want to work on plugging them all in to charge when you get home at night and then pack them up in the morning?). I realize that the dust bags are small and require their own maintenance, but still, 20 min on a vac for a company that prides itself for dust collection is not that good...And I get that there's a niche for a battery vac where this would be great and I love my battery powered tools (different color though)-I have no problem with festool offering a cordless version of this, but it's a joke to kill the corded version of the tool. Same price as corded plus the price for batteries and a charger...looking into my crystal ball I foresee a vac with an optional cord and space for much bigger batteries (duh), and sold as a naked tool if the festool gods aren't stupid. Not a festool hater (love festool in fact), they are good at what they do and for me their vacs especially are sweet and a good value for what I do, but cutting the cord completely on this is so annoying.
