Thank you for the lecture. Could you explain how to calculate what vertical geometry (w-width of intrinsic layer and A - area of intrinsic layer ) so that GaAs microwave pin diode would be able to sustain 2Watts?What programs better to use for such calculations?
You should go for HFSS and by some trail of simulation you can better understand.

+Sree Kanth : Avalanche is charge multiplication with limited energy and in trappt Diode plasma charge multiplication happens with high charge multiplication. In photo Diode change multiplication happens due to photo energy. For generation of photo energy in photo Diode see my video based on photo diode

Explain microwave bench setup
Sir I have a doubt, you are telling that in reverse bias as c decreases, Xc increases and Rd becomes negligible. But how can they Co- exist sir, one comes in forward bias and the other in reverse bias.
At microwave frequency it exists.

Interinsic layer is there to increase width of dipletion region and it decreases time of charge removal from depletion region.
@@EngineeringFunda but sir p type is heavily doped and it is expected to form a thin depletion region just like n type is forming with the intrinsic semiconductor . please explain sir.
