My Aquarium cracked because the original stand was wavering at the bottom,. so it put it on a slightly smaller stand.....cracked 2 nights ago my landlord came up freaking out, I lost 4 fish, which is a miracle...water was down to the gravel and I was in the dark with a flashlight as the water was everywhere and I didn't want to get a shock by turning on a lamp. NOT ONLY THAT, I set up a spare Aquarium in less than 10 minutes as my fish were in a plastic tray, getting cold. No room for even one error. I made sure the water came out the tap warm, no time to rely on the heater, and everything came out at 26.6 C. It was a miracle. Letting them die was not an option.
hi i have a 15cm crack in my tubed fish tank im not sure if its acrylic or plastic is their any cheap way of fixing it please as the water just comes out lol
@@lemonblossom0 if its a type of super glue aka crazy glue and stuff like that as soon as its dry its safe for fish many use that glue to glue plants to wood and diff stuff in an aquarium. but this is not how to fix a tank anyway it may hold for a little while but it will blow out and in many cases its not usually just a leak it lets go and empties the tank
Hi, the cracks are on the lower side of my 25l tank, one is 5cm the other is 15cm, DO you think this method will be enough for fixing them or it might leak? Also do I have to put silicon from the inside as well?
"The king of diy "talks about why a cracked glass on the sides is not a good thing to repair!! instead you have to replace the whole side with new glas because its more pressure on the glass on the sides than the bottom piece that is the one you can safely repair with aquarium silicone and new part of glass on top the crack. This is not a safe choise.

No seriously don't. The glue can kill the fish. Only use 100% silicone to seal your tank.

Silicon on the outside will not really help, would be better applied on the inside.
i agree and this certainly won't work for a large 100+ gallon-way to much pressure. It would burst right out.
