Use mine all the time. Great piece of kit! Take off the velcro sleeve and sew it on the left shoulder. I like that there's little to no velcro on the mountain one. As well as the draw strings are on the inside. The pockets around the waist are super useful for a minimalist patrol with no webbing.
Looks like a great hunting jacket. I've never been a fan of the British and Canadian 'exposed buttons' on field clothing but if they're sewn on well I guess it'll work! Love that camo pattern!
@@Yorkshireoutoorsandsurvival Hey Sam! I’m sweating like crazy working on my wood pile. Humidity is nuts! Definitely some good potential with this style of smock. Have a good day my friend!
@@dimvol8605 The mountain smocks are water resistant, if it’s a downpour the rain will soak through. So I carry an Arktis Rainshield jacket and wear it underneath the smock if it’s a downpour. I’ve worn the mountain smock in continuous light rain and it repel for a while then it will let some water through the weave
Really bummed I missed the CADPAT run at arktis. If anyone has CADPAT smock in XL they are willing to sell reach out, lol. Also, what have you noticed as the noticable differences in the Mountain vs Combat smock?
@@dswade59 The mountain has a second lining on the inside, more pockets, sewn in D rings for kit, snipers veil, plus hood can be placed into the collar, plus cuffs use buttons for adjusting. Those are the main ones I remember. Hope that helps!

Good vid. Being naughty OP, so be forgiving. What would you use this for? Bow hunting? Curious my Canadian friends. I hope you get your rights to truly bear arms back soon.

It matches the Tacgear smock in terms of pockets and zips and their position, which is not waterproof and has no lining - a quick-drying gear carrier, not a comfort item. The Arctic's hood is a way better solution. The Tacgear hood has a very strong, thick wire to keep the field of vision clear - a bit distracting. However, due to Brexit, the Arctic is much more expensive in the EU than the Tacgear. All taxes, shipping, ~+130Euro difference between Tacgear/Arktis. The Tacgear didn't even cost me 190Euro including shipping and handling...

@@okanagan.outdoors Yes great points! If you’re just using a ruck, once at a camp, grab some kit and toss it in your pockets and you’re good to go!
Really nice smock a Scout. It's similar to the Mil-Tec. But I think the pockets are bigger. And it has some excellent features. Thanks bro. Cheers 🍻

Is the material of these different from the combat ones, or the same cotton poly blend? Is the lining an extra layer to wick away sweat?
