I know you said they were a "simplistic band", and maybe they were. But, if it were so simple to be this great, more bands would be as great. They made it seem simple, but therein lies the brilliance. It's hard to write great songs that stand the test of time. Anyway, as always, killer tone and a great video! Cheers!
Aloha Marty! Braddah, I can say the same thing for every video you do….You have MOJO in da fingahs, great guitar technique, awesome amp tone, excellent note articulation and execution with tasty embellishments. Furthermore, your verbal instruction and phrasing of what you want to say is excellent with the english language….seriously, it’s not broken down and slangy…..a lot of people out there really have lousy speaking skills but your grammar is perfect as an instructor. Brah….You get’em brah….you know how fo’ talk da kine teacher kine stuff! Mahalo nui loa Marty, for sharing your time with us. Aloha….
Thanks Geoffrey. I can't believe I got to 10k! I never thought it was even a remote possibility. Thanks so much man. I really appreciate your support. 😎🤟🏻🥂
Hey Marty. AC/DC is the first music that I learned on guitar. Just learned of the vinyl records and played along. I had a vinyl box set of theirs from the 70s. Had the Australian High Voltage, much different from the album that was released around the world. Also Dirty Deeds, and Powerage, let there be rock. My favourite album of theirs is the live album If You Want Blood.
Nice man! I had back in black on vinyl oblong with fly in the wall, high voltage, dirty deeds and Highway to hell. Those vinyl records still sound great when you drop the needle! 🤟🏻😎
I love the part when you say you always want to play best of both 2 worlds when playing highway to hell. I do these things often, make the correlation between 2 songs. it drives my wife nuts when I start singing lyrics to another song while she is listening to song that sounds alike!🤣
Thanks for the lesson. Most people breakout an SG for AC/DC and in reality the rhythm is played by Malcolm on a Gretsch with Filtertron which are more singl coil like. Ironically you have P90s which are a good compromise.
Awesome , just bought one of those specials in vintage cherry , what a light powerhouse of a guitar . . neck to me seems like a c shape or rounded . . love your channel
Another great video, Marty! As always I feel like I’m jamming with a buddy. So glad you went back to the tabs. They’re simple and useful. I agree with the early Def Leppard tones sounding reminiscent of AC/DC. I love those tones.
Happy holidays to you too Marty! Btw, you got me deep diving into some VH that I haven’t listened to in years. Take me back (deja vu) on Balance. Very cool guitar work on that one. I recommend you revisit it if you haven’t listened to in a while. Have a good one.
How about a guitar lesson song from a obscure classic Hard Rock band Stepson - Suffer Fanny Adams - Ain't No Loving Left Demian - Face The Crowd Jeronimo - Sundays Child Alamo - Got to Find a Better Way Edgar Broughton Band - Out Demons Out Night Sun - I Got a Bone of my own Haze - Peaceful Nonsense Honorable Mention to the band Rose Tattoo any song off their first three albums is killer
Great suggestions. I try to balance between lots of things. Mostly sway to the side of what I may get the most traction on for the guitar base (old and new) may be looking for regarding lessons and stuff on RUclips
dude.....if they ever make a movie about Ed's life you better get your ass to the auditions bro cool SG is that the Beato model ? beautiful ice blue keep on rockin the vids side question did your band , slippery ...ever play at rockburgers in myrtle beach ? not sure but i think i saw you guys back in 93? sinister grin played as well either way you are da man
That would be a trip man!!! Nah the Beato is a LP double cut. Pretty cool one too! And slippery wasn't founded until 2002. They're still going strong lol! I just could do it anymore after many years .... we also did a metal thing called White Leppard Crue. 😎🤟🏻😎
I learned how to play by ear with AC/DC back in 1978or9ish. Thanks Marty
You Welcome dude! Thera a great way to learn and get it down man. 😎🎵
It came out in 1981
4:56 the second guitar goes from a B chord to a B5/A.
Love School of Rock! Great lesson! Thanks!
Thanks Nicholas! School of rock is hilarious. 😂. 😎🤟🏻
Cool stuff! That guitar looks awesome too!!
Thanks! It's a gritty beast!
NICE! marty, try f.t.at.r. intro with the b string open!
You’re the best man. The SG sounds great with whatever it’s plugged into. You have plenty of tools in the workshop.
Thanks man! I used a fractal ax8 for RUclips. Makes it's easier!

5:44 keep your ring finger on the F# and lift your first finger to hit an open A note. That gives it a little more growl. 🤘🏼

Acdc guitar- who hard can it be-. next time you are at the pub ask them to play an Acdc song, they proably won`t fix it. But you can.
For those... doesn't sound right.
B string should be open, and pedal it, you’ll see it sounds much better.
What song?
@Marty5150 intro to " For those about to rock" perhaps. I play that with an open b too.
@@Ranch5150SkinWalker sorry, For Those About to Rock, I reckon Angus plays it simpler with the open B.
