Tom Curren talks about the Jbay Open and Perfect Tens

I was fortunate enough to get to interview Tom Curren while in Jbay for the ASp Jbay Open. Tom surfed against Occy in an ASP Heritage Series heat before the Semi Finals. He amazed the beach with his incredible lines at Supertubes and also got the deepest tube of the day for a perfect 10 point ride from the ASP judges. He also chats to me about the top 4 at the Jbay Open and why they got to the semi finals and why Mick Fanning ended up the champ.

TC still makes it look effortless and is always in tune with the ocean...an amazing soul surfer. Met him when he was dating Lisa Wakefield and I was dating her older sister. He had just joined the NSSA and in the beginning he was already above par. We've shared some days at Sandspit, Deverauxs, Campus Point, Fernalds, SC Rivermouth and of course the Con. Tom always made it look easy and his infectious personality made even the heaviest days so much easier to deal with. Never seen the guy back down from anything and because of that, made me a much better surfer. Keep rockin' Tom, the ocean is all yours!
