I’ve been running the Sena 30k’s on my and my guys helmets for the past few years and we love them, and use them all day long. As a professional arborist being able to easily communicate with my guys no matter where they are is a huge bonus!
Yup, I just did a Pro Arborist video with CANOPY COPS here yesterday and with the Sena 30k coms in the Protos helmets and it was awesome to here everyone working together.
Nice video guys. Helmets can have lots of uses besides safety. They can be thrown at the stock car that spun you out, they can be thrown at the umpire that called you out, they can be thrown on the ground in disgust after throwing an interception. I have used lots of helmets in my lifetime. GNI
Got my protos helmet last year. Best buy yet , for logging , chainsaw cutting, and tree climbing and feeding brush thru the chipper. Keeps your head safe from whipping branches and sticks that fly back while chipping. Keeps most sawdust out of your eyes. Keeps your the loud saws and chipper to quiet bearable levels. I got the go pro mount to use on it. Need to get shades yet for it that seems super slick to hideaway. Would Help alot when u gotta rope and lower limbs down on sunny days. Protos makes great helmets built to last and protect. My brother got 3 recently for him in the lift and his 2 ground guys with sena coms. Definite necessity for any logger or chainsaw user. Also works great when grinding stumps to keep dirt and chips from hitting your face
The PFANNER PROTOS with the SENA 30K are a game changer for sure on the job site for communication. I have around 20 of them set up just like that for all my employees.
Hi Chris: Great video- I have a Protos helmet. They are fantastic. A night and day difference between the regular forestry helmets. It took me a few days to dial in the fit, but when you get it fitted to you, you can wear it all day with comfort. I didn’t know about the safety glasses inserts. I’m going to be looking for a pair.
Generally a light blue is expected out west. Between helmets and tree marking paint its widely used. Red/yellow on logs is a indicator for product that is prohibited from going on the export market. Generally logs from state owned land. . In my experience dealing with limited vision, Dark colors blend in dangerously with surrounding brush. Ive heard/seen a few people try a dark color, operators are generally not accustomed to it and ((very)) close calls have happened. The rain allows for lots of under story brush, and can seriously limit your ability to see a person. . But obviously dealing with a tree in someone's yard, is a completely different work environment.
Most motorcycle riders have learned that cardo is the best brand in wireless communication. The mesh network is more mature. Stable. Sena is really behind the game in this area.
I have had my tooTony colored Protos for several years and overall like it, the tuckaway hearing protection comes at the cost of overall width of the helmet being wider. I like the individual color choice as it also gives a visual reference to who is who that your yelling at😉. 1%💩😁
I am going to have to be like Ralphie in Christmas Story. Going to leave pictures of the helmets around the house, taped to someones coffee cup, the remote, computer screen, Macys back .(that is his service dog), TV screen, ceiling in the bedroom, cookie jar, etc. He knows i have had five concussions. The best brain bucket is really needed. I will just keep plsying this video clip on all the TVs. If I lie and tell him it works with the McDonalds app he will think it is the greatest thing since a plain mc double.
Chris would one of these benefit a person if there working alone bout all the time?? Not a joke I'm being serious,I'd love to have music when working.lol thanks
You need an Orange one if they make it😊 Question can Chris can Ride his e-Bike? Your Helmet wasn’t strapped on that’s why it fell of when branch hit you🤓
Im catching up on videos close to the top of the list of brand loyalty to me is customer support, my other comment is why do people call a hot water tank a hot water heater,it is actually a cold water heater you add cold water to heat ,why if it was a hot water heater would you want to heat it ( unless you want it hotter) but if you really think about it, it is really a hot water tank or a cold water heater. Just a little bit of useless knowledge, about your truck what are the dimensions of your truck bed i see you heap it just a little bit to get a full 1/3 cord in with out measuring the wood if you would please hight width and length thank you i have a full size bed 8 foot so i would have to try to figure it out thanks again, and that was just joking around about the water tank
Thanks Larry! Most truck vary a bit from models/years/manufacturers so I recommend that you take a measured facecord or 1/3 of a cord and then put it in your truck bed to know...that is what I did a long time ago so I would know. Mine is a 6 1/2 foot long box.
i don't know.... $300+ for the helmet and another 200 for com? $500 bucks each? i've never paid more than 30 for a logging helmet. and walkie/talkies are maybe 20? i suppose if i ever hear of a normal helmet causing a death i'll spend the extra $300.
There is a reason ALL the arborist use them...communication for when you are depending on others to do what you need when you need it...safely. The hearing protection is the best i have ever used and my hearing is worth a few hundred bucks. The eye protection is the best I have ever used and my eyes are worth more than a few hundred buck. What is it worth to you for your safety, hearing, eyesight and communication? A few hundred bucks is cheap.

Chris another excellent video from you and the guys 😮😊❤
Glad you enjoyed it!!
Nobody needs a helmet...till you need it. We told motorcycle riders to spend what you think your head is worth.
Yup, kind like hiring a brain surgeon....cheap might not be good.
Thanks Guys. Might have to check that place out.
I'm surprised You didn't pick the pink to Match all your pink Taped Tools.
Maybe I can wrap it in pink tape!
Great information and that fella sure knew his stuff! GNI
Glad you enjoyed it!

So far I like mine just fine!
Still no good comparison video of forest helmets. I would like to see review of stihl or husqvarna helmet line. Hope to see it at future. Nice video!
Good idea, if the companies or someone would send us some we would do that. But these set ups just cost each of us over $500....so....

Yup, I agree with the different colors!
G’morning Chris ! I’ll take an orange one, I’ll need the jumbo sized for my huge cranium. Looks great.
GoodNightIrene
They do make extenders for big brained individuals!

Yup, that was it! Tony can handle the assaults...he is tough!
do you wear the haix boots you advertised for them? if so are they comfy and wearable all day? any ruby red slippers?
Yes i have 2 pairs and I wear them EVERY day and the ruby red slippers when cutting.
@@InTheWoodyard oh my. i just got the lime green version of the ruby reds. how long did it take you to break them in, they are like cast iron 🙂
Chris would one of these benefit a person if there working alone bout all the time?? Not a joke I'm being serious,I'd love to have music when working.lol thanks
You can use Bluetooth to your phone to listen to music and if someone calls you can talk to them thru it.
@@BertsCustomCuts hey thanks Bert awesome so I can talk on phone running my saw or splitter if I had too??
@jessejones9830 works well, they will just hear some background noise.
Yup...great protection..hearing, head, visor, glasses, bluetooth., music, phone....Plus you will look cool!
Maybe, loud sounds might be an issue for the other person...good question!
👍👍👍
Thanks!!!
Gavin could have that pinkish helmet to go with his new chain saw
Yup, purple and pink!
Do the blue😊
Very pretty!
That is a great array of brain buckets. Maybe whoever doesn't wear these helmets where needed don't have anything to put in them .
Yup, they are nice....kind need the brain to function most days so protecting it is a good idea!
Excellent Guys!! Can't wait to see these in action! GNI

Question can Chris can Ride his e-Bike?
Your Helmet wasn’t strapped on that’s why it fell of when branch hit you🤓
They are nice for sure!
Sweeeeet! No pink. Camo..
Camo would be cool but visibility is good for a crew working.
@@InTheWoodyard true but I can hide from my husband. 😂
