Congratulations Philip on finding a truly world class fossil. Your portfolio of finds is already incredible but this fossil is on another level. What a fantastic ambassador you are for the fossil hunting community and we applaud your selflessness for sharing your amazing find with the world. You’re a true gentleman and we the Smith family from North Yorkshire are massive fans of yours and you have our utmost respect. Can’t wait for your next incredible find😃
Thank you Mark, that`s so greatly appreciated and very kind of you, especially from someone with the skills and knowledge you have.
@@philipjjacobsHave a fantastic New Year Philip and congratulations again on your simply incredible find and amazing gift to the world ❤
What a wonderful account of the both the spirit of rare fossil collecting, and of a very special moment for Philip and for reptile paleontology.
Mr Attenborough himself needs to make a statement congratulating Mr Jacobs. Amazing find.
Fantastic Philip what a find huge congratulations and shame on the BBC a public apology during prime time TV is needed ASAP
Such an amazing find, Phil! I can totally imagine the excitement and huge smile upon your face upon finding this - much as I understand Steve's nervousness about getting it off the beach as soon as possible! Also, thank you so much for donating this to science! It's an absolutely gorgeous piece and led to a jaw-dropping discovery, which might otherwise not have been made! 🙌
Philip's generosity and decision to not keep the snout was intergral to everything that has since happened. The 3 weeks of excavation led by Steve, the months of preparation and the year of film making, all started when Philip notified Steve of that discovery. So much work has been commited to this pliosaur and all began on that day in april 2022.
The video that everyone's been waiting for thanks for doing this video of the man who started the story off, will be down soon to see Philips fantastic find and Steve's unbelievable prep.
This story is an amazing one and Philip's find is now a world wide sensation. It's an amazing specimen and it's well worth coming to see!
Congratulations to Philip on his wonderful find - and for his generosity in donating it to science for the world to enjoy and to learn from.
Wonderful find!
It really is!
Amazing find! I can only try to imagine how excited you were when you found these. By the way, I’m a huge fan of your designs too.
A great find and right decision too - well done all involved in saving this for us all
What a wonderful find, and a lovely description of the event! Thankyou
It really was an amazing find!
Ambassador indeed Mark, rescuing local fossil finds of scientific importance for all to see.
Congratulations Phillip and thank you for sharing this!
🤩 wow I am so impressed 😂
It's an awesome story!
Well done Phil! A great achievement after 40 years!
Congrats Philip! I hope they name the dino after you! Why was this interview not included in the BBC program? Shame on them for omitting you!
This interview sadly would have been long to fit in with such a show crammed full of amazing imagey and knowledge. We are pleased though that we can share this part of the story and tell Philips contribution to this wonderful tale
Congratulations Philip
To think that the rest of that amazing creature is still in the cliff.
